Rapid City Sharp Shooter nets winner
The Lucknow Lancers capped off the
season with a 7 - 5 win over the
hometown Wiarton neaten Friday night
This left the Lancers with quite a few
wins, not as many losses and a coupleof
ties, as they head into the playoffs next
weekend with the Ripley Wolves.
Friday in Wiarton Andy Grazier
unleashed a blistering shot from the point
to put the Lancers up by one but Wiar-
ton came back minutes later to tie the
score. Steve Simpson and Steve MacPher-
son added one each for the Lancers as
the first period ended 3 - 1.
The Lancers were lucky to have a 4 --
3 lead after the second period with net -
minder Ray Guay coining up with
several good saves for the Lancers. Brad
Priestap's goal for the Lancers was the
... only bright spot in the second.
Wiarton kept the int‘e, up in the third
with two more goals to take a 5 - 4 lead
but Grant Gilchrist pulled the Lancers
even again. With five minutes left m the
game that RaPid, City Sharp Shooter Art
Clark tucked home the winner andthen
added an insurance goal as the Lancers
won 7 - 5.
