MacDonald, of Brantford and foriuerly of Goderich, died at the John Noble Home in :Brantford on Satur- day, Jan. 27. 1990. He was 92 years old. Mr. Maelld. -was a printer who owned and operated the Goderieh Print Shop., He was a Member of the Presbyterian church and the Maitland • Lodge 33, A.F. & A.M>, Goderich, He received his 50 -year Membership Button on Jan. 9, 1979, • Hewas also a Member of Huron Chapter 30, R.A:M., Goderich, and receiv- ed his 50 -Year Membership Jewel;an Feb.. 14, 1960. Mr. MacDonald was also a member of, the following organizations: the Mount Horeb Chapter 20, Brantford (made. 1M Honorary Member Mar.' 16, 1972, and received his 60 -year Jewel m December, 1988; St. Elmo Preceptory 22, Knights Templar • Stratford 'Life Member. of the Order; , o? the High Priesthood of Ontario P.C.M. Member • of .Mocha Temple, A A.O,N M.S., •London; Charter Member. of Blue Water Shrine. Club (Unit of Mocha Temple); Charter Member and. Mr. MacDonald was born in Goderie On Feb 21,1897,, to Duncan and Margaret (Cameron) MacDonald He served in the Canadian Army Medcal..Corps, in World War I, enlisting on May 8, 1916 and was, discharged on May 19, 1919. He spent •a little over two years in France, serving as a stretcher-bearer with the CAMC, and was wounded at the Battle of Vimy. After his discharge, he joined the Militia as Stretcher -Bearer Sergeant and served until 1928, teaching First .Aid. He married Olive (Young) in .Goderich on Nov. 24, 1934. She survives 3dm, as do three daughters; Catharine and her • hus- • band Steve Brown and Margaret and her husband Gord Lamond, all of Brantford; and Laurin and her husband Richard Madge of Goderich. He is also survived by one son; Bruce and bis friend Julie of London. Also surviving are sisters Rena (Mrs. Jack McNab) of Lucknow and Gladys "Tiny" (Mrs. Don Robertson) of Ripley; one brother, Leonard, and his wife Fern of Lucknow, and 12 grandchildren •aid four.great.children. Mr. MacDonald is also survied by his. sisters-in-law Kay MacDonald of Lucknow and Margaret "Peg" acDonald of, Walkerton. He was predeceased y two sisters, Helen; Harris and Janet MacDonald and two brothers, Duncan and Cameron MacDonald. • °The funeral . service was ':held at McCallum• and Pella Funeral Horne in Goderich on Monday, Jan. 29, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. D.R. Nicholson of falba Presbyterian officiated. Memorial services were also held Sun- day evening by Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies'" -Auxiliary to Branch 109 and Maitland Lodge 33, A.F. & A.M. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Henry, Bill Ross and Leonard Boyce. Pallbearers were grandsons Scott Mac- Donald, Larry Madge, Daryl Madge, . Glenn Brown, Tim Crossman and Kris MacDonald.
