Chalmers Presbyterian Chalmers. Presbyterian Church held its annual meeting on January 20 in the 'church. The meeting was opened with a hymn followed with prayer by Rev. Neilson. Archie Purdon was nominated to act as secretary and. Rev. Neilson was chair- man. The various reports were given and adopted and; new business discussed. She followed with the meditation and prayer. A reading' by Mrs. Milligan and Mrs. Elliott followed. The topic was taken by Jean Ross on Your New Year. She said many people make' resolutions and never keep them, others make them and keep them for a short while, but it is -better to try and fail, then never to try. The reading called The Land of Begin- ring Again was given by Norma Rintpul. • Dora Neilson read the minutes • and Mrs. Elliott conducted the business: The rollcall was answered, by 12 members with :a verse containing the word begin- ning. The community is sorry to hear that Mayne Wilkins' mother, Stella Irwin, of Kinloss 'Townships, is a patient in the Wingham Hospital at present. Ewan and Marl MacLean were in Wyoming for a couple of days with Marl's brother and sister irelaw, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Williamson. While there Ewan • had an operation ori his left eye to have a cataract removed. On Sunday Barry and'Betty Jones had their Sunday dinner with John and Judy Sinclair in Clinton and on Wednesday the Jones had visitors from St. Mary's, Clarence and Joyce Tate, for lunch and they enjoyed a nice visit. Cecil and James Webster of Waterloo visited on the weekend with their mother Kae Webster: On Saturday Cecil and Jim were in Kincardine,to attend a meeting of .the Sno Bird Snowmobile Club. The club had a 50/56 draw. The draw was made by Gus Kupper and was won by Ted Christian , of Kincardine. Congratulations.
