Dunganuon Union Charge bids farewell to Roberts family

ly 250m embers of Dungannon,, Nile,
nybrook and Trinity Churches as they
came to say farewell and a thank you to
Rev. Roberts for his ministry. 'Rev.
Roberts, or Bob ashe became known to
his *friends, served four years on the,
Dungaiuition..Nile charge charge before
Trinity and Do iybrook joined them four
and a half years ago. At this time the
four point° charge became known as
Dungannon Union.
The farewell evening was held at
Brookside Sehool on Friday Januarry 26 in
the form of a variety concert where
members, from four churches.

' Frank Alton, who acted, as MC,
welcomed everyone before Shauna
drew of Trinity played a piano. number.
The Huron Bruce Swingers favoured with
two numbers before Wes Drennan of Nile
played Red River Valley. and Wabash
Cannonball on his violin; Vanessa Alton
of Trinity then played two numbers while
her sisters, Kathryn, Sandraand,Ieather
sang. Ruth Alton of Trinity then read
Life After Forty which was very amus-
ing. We then had a. little sing song lead
by Joan Armstrong of Donnybrook,
Frank Alton added a little humour as, he
told several storiek entitled. Just A.
Rumour. The Robinson , girls • Heather,
Patricia and Catherine then gave violin
selections before Tenille Cranston of
Dungannon played a piano solo. Cherilyn
Ribey, of Nile sang three beautiful
numbers before the program committee
presented the humorous skit—This Is
Your Life. Bill and Suzanne Andrew,
Wayne and Donna Snyder and Bob and
Karen Roberts were the lucky couples
who had their life flashed back.to them
by seven swinging singing gals.: Louise
Wilson played while Frank Alton .com-
mented between each song.
The Roberts :family Chad, Jeremy,.
Tammy and Robbie Roberts were then.
asked 'to join their parents on the stage.
Frank Alton presented Rev. Roberts
with a 1989- Prosche , sports car (toy
' model) onbehalf of the Dungannon Union
congregation before Harold ;Errington,
clerk *of session for Dungannon spoke.
Harold mentioned that we did not come
to say goodbye but to wish them much
happiness in their new charge at
Ridgetown. He stated that we have been
through good and hard times and that he
• was leaving in the good tins. He also
said one of the wain reason,'Dungannon
Union's new four point charge was a suc-
cess was due to Rev. Roberts hard work.
Harold then presented the Roberta fami-
ly with a cheque from the four charges,
ether gifts. were presented by • the
U.C.W.'s of the churches. •
Rev. Roberts very graciously. thanked
everyone for the enjoyable time he spent
here. He also . stated how terrible we
were: terribly kind, thoughtful and will-
