Lueknow Agricultural Society
holds annual meeting
The amnia meetin' g of the Lueknow
Agricultural Society was Meld on Tues-
dey, Jan 23, 1990 in the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church. After dinner, the
Soeiety and guests.were welcome to the
Presbyterian Church by Rev. Margaret
.Kinsman,
President Ken Mewhireiey, on behalf of
the Agriculture Society, thanked Norm
and Eva Bolt for their many year, of
Service to. the Society. Norm and Eva are
leaving the commuldty and they will be
missed.

the Agricultural Society over the years.

Local A.I.: group accredited
The local members of, Amnesty Inter-
national, whotave been meeting as a
"group -in -formation" for two years,
became accredited as Group No. 159 in
December 1989.
To gain this status, the body had to
have an evaluation - by an outside
representative approved by the Canadian
executive in Ottawa and certification by
the international secretariat in London,.
England. A letter . received in Goderich
containing the news of the ' elevation
praised the members for the high level of
their activities during the formative
years.
Meetings are held bnthe fourth Mon-
day of each month in the board room of
the assessment office on. Gloucester Ter-
race in Goderich at 7:30 p.m.
The ii eiinbers who participate in the.
monthly meetings are aware that there
are many more AI members in the area
who protest violations of human rights
worldwide by Writing letters from their
homes, and will invite them to a special
members' night in 1990.
Other 1990 events planned include a
yard sale May 26 members and others
interested are asked to begin collecting
items.
At a membership drive in the spring
speakers will explain Amnesty Interna-
tional and videos will be shown.
