on January 10 at the home of Jean Tif-
fin in WinghRarn. This was the Resolutions
meeting with Mrs. Tiffin as convenor and
hostess. President Marjorie Wall opened
with • a paean, Opening ode and Lords
Prayer.

tern in Sunday where they had a lovely

The community will be 'sorry to hear
that Grant Irwin of Clinton, son of
Clarence and Eleda Irwin, Highway 86,
had the misfortune to fall on the ice
(after the sleet storm) and cracked three
ribs and. broke his collarbone. Get well
'Grant.
Rhetta MacLennan has returned home
from the Kincardine Hospital where she
was a patient for a week and -a half.

Pine liiver U.C.W.
The U.C.W. of the Pine River United
Church met. on Tuesday morning January
9 in the basement of the church. The
president Gail Lowry was in the chair,
Gail introduced the new study =bookfor
the. year "Canadians Cultural Mosiae. '
The scripture Was read by Alice
Drzazga. This was read first in English,
and then Mice read them in Polish.
A video was shown to the 20 ladies pre-
sent "Creating Bridges", which showed
the many problems that face the many .
thousands of immigrants that come to
Canada each year. It was very much en-
joyed and gave the ladies light into what
is taken for granted, but what\can be a
problem by those just joining our midst.
The Purpose of the U.C.W. was read in
unison.
Sharon Courtney gave the ladies an in-
sight on what she hopes can take place
at Kountry Kitchen next October.
Margaret Ferguson read the treasurers
report.
