Lancers win and
lose on weekend
Weekend action saw the Lancers pick
up a win and a loss es Wiarton banded
the Lancers a 6 - 4 loss, while hileLucknow
gave Ripley a 12.- 3 loss. In Wiarton the
Lancers were tied at one after the first
of play, with Wayne Phillips acor-
far the Lancers.
he Lancers fell asleep for five
minutes in the second period as Wiarton
scored four *nes to take a 5 - 1 lead.
Pat Murray got one back for the Lancers
as the second ended 5 - 2; Wiarton scored
one more early in the third to go ahead
by four and two goals by Steve Simpson
was two to few as the game ended 6 - 4.
Sunday night the Lancer's had the puck
boencing their way as they handed
Ripley a 12 - 3 loss.. Dean Lindsay held
the Wolves at bay in the Lucknow net for
the win. Lucknow's goals were scored by
Pat Murray, two; Mike Whitcroft, two;
Grant Gilchrist, Art Clark, Brad
Priesstap, Scott Hackett and Steve Simp-
son getting. the rest. Carl Stanley, Rob
Rooks Dan Wilken replied for the.
visitors.

Well, the stormy weather sure came
back to Point Clark with full force on Fri-
day.-
ri-day,- Good, old Highway 21 was closed
again with many people being stranded.
Sure hone this doesn't become a .habit for
the -rest of the .winter.
Don't forget the Huron Lakeshore
Friendship Club'smeeting will be held at -
the community centre on Thursday, Jan.
18 at 10:30 am.
Thursday afternoon is crafts at the core-
munity centre for seniors. If you enjoy
quilting or would like to learn, come and
participate ui making these creations.
The Seniors' club sponsors card and
games night at the community centre on
Thursday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.' This is your
chance for: an enjoyable evening out and to
meet new people.
For all you skating enthusiasts, come on
out to. the Attawandaron: Park on Friday,
Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. for a skating party
hosted by the F.A.C.E.S. club. All .kids,
grab your skates, parents; grandparents,
friends and neighbors and have an en-
joyable evening out.
All seniors are welcome to come to the.
community centre on Monday, Jan. 22 for
shuffleboard at 1 pm. and 7 p.m. Come
have some fun and even if you don't know
how to play there are willing people to
show • you.:
Tip of the Week: Store wax candles in
the freezer. They will burn much longer
and won't drip as much.

This winter with its heavy fall of snow
has been good for skiing this year and the
family of Floyd and Lynne Stanley have
been doing well in it. They belong to the
Kimberley Club at Talisman.
Their daughter - Kerry Stanley won the
great slalom race at Beaver Valley on
Saturday and their son Deane; a member
of the Georgian Peaks Club at Collingwood
was second on Sunday racing against the
London Std Club.
