ISABFI.1 i MACLENNAN MACKENZIE
Isabelle MacKenzie of Pinecrest Nurs-
ing Home, Lucknow, died in Wingham and
District Hospital, on December 7, 1987 at
the age of 96.
Mrs. MacKenzie had also resided at
Princess Court, Kincardine for an interim
period.
Mrs. MacKenzie was a retired school
teacher. In her early 60s she had con-
templated beginnirhg a nursery school in
Lucknow. At that same time she was ap-
proached by the local School Board and
asked to teach the first kindergarten class
in Lucknow, which was the first opportuni-
ty for kindergarten training locally.
Also a member of the Lucknow United
Church and Lucknow UCW, Mrs. MacKen-
zie had remained alert and interested in
her community, friends and church. She
was also a founding member of what is
now known as the Lucknow Town and
Country Club.
Isabelle MacKenzie is survived by
daughters Mrs. Rae (Catherine) Myers of
Morrisburg, Mrs. George (Helen)
MacGregor of RR 1, Kincardine and her
son, Jack MacKenzie of Lochalsh. She is
also survived by eight grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband
Neil J. MacKenzie in 1944; three brothers
D.L. MacDiarmid, Jamestown, New
York; Grant MacDiarmid, RR 3,
Lucknow, D.R. MacDiarmid, Cleveland,
Ohio and a sister, Mrs. G. (Catherine)
Stockham, Detroit.
Mackenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home, Lucknow were in charge of the
funeral arrangements.
The service was conducted by Rev. G.
McFarlane of the Lucknow United Church
on Wednesday, December 9 at 2 p.m. at the
funeral home.
Pallbearers were three grandsons, Gor-
don Myers, Ian MacKenzie and Gary
MacKenzie, as well as Bill Farrish, Ewan
MacLean and Ross MacKenzie.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
PEARL ARABELL BUSHELL
Arabell Bushell of 160 Cherryhill Pl, Lon-
don, formerly of Lucknow, died in
Lakeland, Florida on December 2, 1987, at
the age of 77.
Mrs. Bushell, a retired telephone
operator, was a member of the United
Church, Rebekah Lodge - Glenco Branch
and associate member of the Clinton
Branch.
Born in Lucknow on May 6, 1910, she was
a daughter of the late Roderick John
Cameron and Sarah Essie Janet Fluker.
Mrs. Bushell is survived by her daughter
Jean, Mrs. Robert Simpson of Kintail; two
sisters-in-law Mrs. Betty Wicks of Ken-
more, N.J., and Mrs. Mildred Cameron of
Lucknow. Six grandchildren and 20 great
grandchildren also survive.
As well as her parents, Mrs. Bushell was
predeceased by her husband, Nelson E.
Bushell, and two brothers Ken and Stewart
Cameron.
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home were in charge of the funeral
arrangements.
The Rebekah Lodge held a.service at the
funeral home on Sunday evening.
Funeral services were conducted by
Rev. Gerald McFarlane of the Lucknow
United Church on Monday, December 7 at
2 p.m.
Flower bearers were Jennifer, Ray-
mond, Cathy, and John S. Dalton, family of
Clete and Mary Louise Dalton.
Pallbearers were Morley Bushell, Ed-
burt Bushell, Rod Cameron, Ken
Cameron, Bob Simpson Jr. and Art
Simpson.
Interment South Kinloss Cemetery.

SCHEERINGA-Kathy and John are proud

Megan Lynn, on November 23, 1987 in the
Peel Memorial Hospital, Bramp on.
Megan weighed in at 7 lbs, 5 ozs. All ri ,a ',ts

Mr. and Mrs. William Scheeringa,
Listowel.
MCDONALD-Ruth, Bill and Shannon are
pleased to announce the birth of their
treasured son and brother, Cole William,
weighing in at 8 lbs, 4 ozs, on Saturday,
December 5 at the Grey Bruce Regional
Health Centre. Cole is a new grandson for
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Echenswiller of RR1
Holyrood and Mr. and Mrs. Norman
McDonald of RR2 Lucknow.
O'NEILL - It's a boy! Bernard and Jean-
nette (nee Johnston) are proud to an-
nounce their new arrival on November 24,
1987. Glenn William was born in Alexander
Marine and Genral Hospital, Goderich,
weighing 7 lbs., 10 oz. Proud grandparents
are James and Ozellah O'Neill of Goderich
and Frank and Dorothy Johnelton of
Londesboro. Proud great grandparents
are Bob and Bertha Johnston of R. 1,
Clinton.

The 1987-88 editions of the Winter Book,
Winter Packages and Winter Events are
now available from the Ontario Ministry of
Tourism and Recreation.
The Winter Book lists 75 downhill and 250
cross-country ski areas across the pro-
vince as well as snowmobiling and ice.

may include meals, ski passes or ice
fishing equipment. A two -night weekend
package with three meals daily starts at
$100 per person (based on double occupan-

no meals) costs about $85 per person.
The final booklet is Winter Events, filled
with things to do during December,
January and February. " Included are
winter festivals, sports, performing arts
and parades.

APPOINTMENT
Thomas W. Hogeboo , son of Wallace
and Jane (Alton) Hoge o of Napanee
has been appointed as Personnel Manager
. of the new Napanee Barmish Inc. Barmish
Inc. is one of Canada's men's apparel
manufacturers.
Tom is an Honours Bachelor of Arts
graduate of Queen's University and has a
Master's degree from Dalhousie Universi-
ty. He returns home to Napanee after five
years of personnel administration in the
