The third period produced some close saves at both ends of the rink, and a lot of activity in between. Defenceman, Stuart Rintoul scored unassisted at the 10 minute mark to make the final score 3-2 for Brussels. Coach Gerry Paolin pulled his goalie Curt Humphrey with seconds remaining in hopes of a tie. Lucknow applied the pressure with the extra player but goalie Beuerman made the moves and held onto his team's lead. A game well played by both teams, and maybe we'll meet again. LUCKNOW NOVICE Clifford vs Lucknow Lucknow Novice was host to Clifford on Saturday, Dec. 12. The home town team was playing without some of their regular players. As a result, coaches Gerry and Steve found that they had to change lines more frequently than usual. Lucknow's Lee Drennan earned himself the hat trick scoring all three of his team's goals. Assisting him on all three was Ben Brophy, while Mark Kerr helped out on one, and narrowly missed the net twice. Clifford's lone goal was scored by Kent deBruyn. Lucknow played out of position at times and the extra ice time tired them more. Curt Humphrey and Graeme Hunter shared the net -minding chores again to. come up with a 3-1 win for Lucknow. Lucknow Novice have won all regularly scheduled games tolost their only exhibition game against Brussels. Next weekend they play in Ripley on Saturday at 3 p.m. and on Sunday travel to Wingham for a game at 4. p.m. LUCKNOW PEE WEE B'S On Dec. 6, 1987 the Lucknow Pee Wees travelled to Durham for the first game bet- ween these two teams. Give someone who cooks all day the day off; from breakfast in bed to a candlelight dinner created by you. Set places at the table for those who might otherwise be alone at theirs. Use your wheels to transport those without to Christmas Eve Services. Visit the Humane Society and adopt an.orphan animal. Use your mistletoe. team's first goal. Durham played equally as well and produced a tying goal. Colin Humphrey netted Lucknow's se- cond goal to make a 2-1 game in Lucknow's favor. Durham was able to capitalize on a dou- ble penalty handed to Lucknow and the score was tied at two. Colin Humphrey scored again to give his team a 3-2 lead at the end of the second period. The duo of Joel Sutton and Keith Todd came up with some key saves to hold onto the one goal lead. Durham scored late in the third period, tying the game. The game was played well by both teams and Lucknow looks forward to a rematch in the future. Next game was in Lucknow on Saturday, Dec. 12, 1987 at 3 p.m. Lucknow vs Hanover Hanover arrived in Lucknow on Satur- day, Dec. 12. Joel Sutton and Keith Todd were suited up for the net -minding chores. Hanover was first to light up the scoreboard on an unassisted goal by R. Marshall. Lucknow was unable to tie it up until into the second period; Danny Kerr scored from Adrian Helm. Scott Nicholson scored on a pass from Colin Humphrey and Don- nie Cuillier to put Lucknow ahead by one. Hanover 'put on the pressure and added two more goals to go ahead. With only two minutes remaining in the second period, Donnie Cuillier tied the game on a pass from Adrian Helm and Danny Kerr. Needless to say, both teams came out keen to start the third period. Hanover's R. Martin scored to put his team ahead. Donnie Cuillier answered back with help from Marvin Kikkert with less than one minute to play. Eager to break the tie, it was R. Mar- shall who sizzled one in at the 27 sec. mark. This put Hanover up one. Lucknow never let up and with three seconds remaining, Doug Helm tied it up assisted by Lyndon Johnston and Paul Kikkert. A well played game by both teams, full of excitement down to the last second. This team has played some good close games and to date their record stands at wins -2; ties -2; losses -2. Keep up the good work, team. Next weekend, they take on Hanover 2 on Saturday at 3 p.m. and on Sunday they travel to Walkerton for a 12 p.m. match. Lucknow parade results The results (first, second and third) of this • year's Santa ,Claus parade are . as follows: Group - Lucknow Public School, Lucknow 130th Birthday, Bob Campbell - Old Fashion Christmas; Service Clubs - Lions Club, Legion, Lucknow Guides; Commercial - Loree's, Your Favourite Things and Knechtel's Grocery. Those participating in the parade were Lucknow Central Public School, Junior Farmers, Dee Vee's, Lucknow District Lions Club, Loree's Ladies Wear, Lucknow Village Market, Hackett Farm Equip- ment, Lucknow District Co-op, Valley Green Flowers, Huron Landscaping, Boy Scouts, Your Favourite Things, Sewing Box, Montgomery's, Lucknow Lions Ladies, Fairview Dairy, Hair, Creations, Edna Alton, Agriculture Society, Bob Campbell Fuels, Chisholm Fuels (Jim and Jack Aitchison with their teams), Brownies, Reunion Committee, Bob Campbell, Lucknow Legion, Guides, Fire Department, Les Petter who sponsored the School Band, Gord Cayley conducting, Diane, Mary, Sharon, Ian and Jean, The Kinsmen and Santa himself. The Lucknow District Lions Club hope next year will be bigger and better.
