Justin Murray scores
natural hat -trick
Lucknow Pee Wee A's
The Lucknow Pee Wee A's clobbered
Teeswater last Monday in a contest which
ended in a 10 -1 Lucknow win.
The first goal on the night was scored
just 11 seconds into the game by Matt
Drennan with Chris Stevenson assisting.
Less than a minute later, Justin Murray
stick handled his way past the Teeswater
defense to net the second goal for
Lucknow.
Murray was hot this night as he took a
pass from Clint Murray and put another
one away before the period was even four
minutes old.
At the 3:43 mark of the first period, Mur-
ray received a Brad Rhody pass and as he
stepped inside the left face-off circle, let a
shot go that baffled the net minder once
more. That completed the hat trick for
Justin.
As the second period began, Chris
Stevenson picked up a pass from Darryl
Gibson at the blue line and completed the
play for the fifth Lucknow score.
The third period started out with Vince
Sticklend scoring while fending off three
Teeswater players in front of the net. The
pass out front came from the stick of War-
ren Andrews in the corner.
Chris Stevenson put another of his great
shots behind the goalie with the helper to
Chits Humphrey. Clint Murray followed
up with two more goals after lots of hard
work. One was an unassisted marker while
the other was assisted by Matt Drennan.
Matt Sproul decided he couldn't wait any
longer and at 8:47 of the final period,
Sticklend put the puck on Sproul's stick.
Sproul turned and tucked the puck under
the goalie for the tenth of the night for the
Lucknow team.
Lucknow Bantams
The Lucknow Bantam team had a tough
week playing three games in five days; un-
fortunately, they were able to gain only
one win.
Monday saw the Bantams meet a fired
up Teeswater team who dominated almost
the entire game. Teeswater peppered the
Lucknow goal tending duo of Allan Kikkert
and Paul Helm with 44 shots and managed
to put a total of nine goals in the local boys'
net. Lucknow did have a flurry of scoring
in the middle of the second when the line of
Brad Murray, Rod Crich and Donnie Gam-
mie scored three points along with Stan
Kikkert who scored his first Bantam goal
when he received a Crich pass in front and
banged` it' m'home: ` A " ilia"`finely` buzzer - r
Teeswater had overpowered Lucknow by a
score of 9-4.
On Thursday, Tiverton played host to the
visiting Lucknow boys. Apart from a short
lapse during the first minutes which saw
Tiverton steal a quick two goal lead, the
Lucknow team skated to a strong 7-4 win

on the goal scoring ability of the Murray,
Crich, Gammie line.
On Friday, Ripley came visiting, but
found seven of the Bantams away. Chris
Humphyey, Justin Murray, Chris Steven-
son and Dwayne Porter came up from the
peewees to add assistance.
With so many missing, it took awhile to
get organized, but once they settled down
all played an excellent game and the of-
fense was fairly equal in the final two
periods. Unfortunately only Chris Steven-
son and Gavin Hunter were able to get the
puck into the Ripley net: The final score
saw Ripley win by 7-2.
Next Friday should see a very in-
teresting game as we meet Teeswater
again at 8:30. After three losses to
Teeswater, I am sure the boys will be out
for a win.
LUCKNOW NOVICE
Lucknow vs Harriston
Lucknow Novice hosted Harriston on
Dec. 1, 1987.
Ben Brophy put the puck past the Har-
riston netminder to put his team on the
scoreboard.
In the fading seconds of the first period,
Lee Drennan took a pass from Trevor Mof-
fat, putting Lucknow up two.
Lucknow added two more in the second
period; Michael Puddy from Jeff Porter
and Brent Cameron scored from Colin
Becker.
This ended the scoring with Lucknow 4,
Harriston 0.
During the third period, Lucknow found
their players in the penalty box three
times, giving Harriston opportunities to
score but the work of Curt Humphrey and
Graeme Hunter was successful and the
game ended at 4-0 for Lucknow.
Referee Dave Black made the necessary
calls to remind the players of hooking,
tripping and slashing.
To date this Novice team remains
unbeaten in regular schedule games but
will face stiffer competition on Tuesday,
Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. when Brussels Novice
comes to town.
Lucknow vs Brussels
Not too far into the .first period it was
quite evident that Brussels had come to
Lucknow to play hockey. Tom Pearson
scored on a pass from Chad McCallum in
the first five minutes of play. Lucknow
worked hard in their own end and it was
Trevor Moffat who carried a pass from
Ben -Brophy— and, _.Jeff, -Porter -.inM.,past
Brussels goalie Josh Beuerman. At the end
of the first peri'+d`the game was tied at one.
Brussels monopolized scoring in the se-
cond period. Marksmen were Tom Pear-
son from Jeff. Lewington and Jeff Dalton;
and Mike Dauphin unassisted. Lucknow
