Dear is the one that is gone,

Loved, remembered, longed for always,
Bringing many a silent tear.

REID
In loving memory of a dear father and
grandfather, Milvert Jarvis Reid, who
passed away on November 25, 1985.
A heart of gold stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
The leaves and 'flowers may wither
The golden sun may set
But the hearts that loved him dearly
Are the ones who won't forget.
Always remembered and sadly missed by

V'otes from Brost
By Teresa Jefferson,
Rhonda Dickson and Joel Wright
Mrs. Bakkers' Kindergarten 2 class
recently had a Teddy Bear Day. They met
many well loved teddies. Their fall
booklets are all completed and look really
great. They are now busy practising for
their Christmas concert.
Miss Mathers' Grade is have enjoyed
learning about 3D shapes. through the use
of household junk. We are getting caught
up in the excitement of Christmas and
have started our Christmas activities.
Miss Jewitt's Grade 1 class has been stu-
dying., shelters of animals and people.
They've been discovering the need to have
shelters to protect animals and people
from dangerous elements. The children
have been busy writing letters to Santa,
practising for the concert, playing
Christmas games and singing Christmas
songs. We wish everyone a Happy
Holiday.
Mrs. Blanchette's room is completing a
study of Canadian Geese. The children
read stories and saw films about animals
getting ready for winter. They have com-
pleted pop-up books, diagrams, and
murals about this topic.
,This week the Dinosaur Den Treehouse
went on a trip to the Lambton Museum and
learned about hos pioneers lived 130 years
ago and found it very interesting. We got
to have a wagon ride and it was fun. We
are still trying to find clues to turn the frog
into a princess. Now we're adding a red
and yellow marble to the potion. Debilyn
Greene is moving away. We'll miss her.
On Wednesday,_Dec...2,_ -Mrs. Ottewell's
-\Grade- 3 Class went to the Lambton
Museum with Mrs. Clarke's class. We
watched a slide show and then we went to
the woodworker and saw some wooden
toys and some of us went on a tractor ride.
Then we went to a pioneer house and they
gave us wassail. Later we made some but-
terflies and a cat stairs chain. We went
outside to the chapel and we sang carols
and a lady played the pump organ. We had
a big day. We're also busy doing
Christmas activities and practising for the
Chrismtas concert.
Mrs. Scott's Grade 4 class held Pay Day
on Nov. 30. Thanks to Mrs. Culbert and
Mrs. Brindley for being our tellers. All the
class helped make a mural of the Kwakiutl
Indians. On Nov. 27, Mrs. Graham came
to our class and we made some masks us-
ing paper mache. On Dec. 1, Mr. Bieman

from the Board Office came to Room 9
with a TV camera and we saw each other
on TV. We are working at producing a
video of our Indian studies. Thank you Mr.
Bieman for getting us started.
Mr. Culp's Grade 4 class asks, "Have
you ever wondered what recycling is all
about?" It's when you can use something
more than once. Our class is bringing pop -
cans that can be recyled. You can also
recycle paper. Mr. Culp is keeping a box
of paper to recycle. We are hoping that
other classes will join us in recycling cans
and paper. We are hoping that we can get
enough boxes for every class and collect
the cans once a week. If we don't recycle
now, we won't have enough aluminum or
trees for paper when we grow up.
Mrs. Webster's Grade 5 class has been
busy. We made all kinds of pinatas — peo-
ple, bumble bees, giraffes, poppies and
pigs. They have candy inside and we can
hardly wait to burst them. Our class
helped our grade 1 buddies make_ bred,.,,.
dough Christmas bears. Thanks to Mrs.
Bakker for coming in to help. We also
wrote letters to Santa for our littel friends.
Do they ever want a lot of things! Every-
day we practise for our part in the
Christmas Concert. We really hope you
enjoy it. We have been reading mystery
novels and doing super sleuth activities..
We have several good mystery writers in
our class. We are proud of Michelle Mc-
Clinchey who win first prize for her story
in the Legion Contest and Philip Dickson
who won second prize for his poster.
On Dec. 4, Mrs. Tebbutt's Grade 6 class
started to do Christmas centres. There are
crossword puzzles, language activities,
math activities, writing activities and
research activities about Christmas.
Everyone is looking forward to doing all
these Christmas activities just as we're all
looking forward to Christmas.
On Sat. Nov, 28, the senior girls and boys
went to Goderich to compete in a
volleyball tournament. Both teams played
well. A lot of ganes were very exciting
with close scores in the third game. Con-
gratulations to all team members.
