Albert and Jean Colwell of Kinloss
celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary
with a family gathering of brothers, sister,
aunts, children and grandchildren at the
home of their daughter Marilyn Fraser at
Corium on Sunday, Sept. 13. Although
their wedding was held Apr. 5,1947, at Zion
United Church in Ha wick Township near

Thamesville in 1947 which made the wed-
ding service an hour late. Aunt Hazel as
organist remembered playing the organ
prelude over and over as they awaited the
arrival of the minister and the flowers and
many guests delayed by the flooding.
Above all she recalls glancing out the

All you need is the minister and the bride
groom," as they waited for the flowers and
late guests from Kincardine to arrive.

ing on Highway 2 and stopping to see if he
could cross the bridge at Delaware. The
driver of the bus behind him said, "I think
you can make it across — if you stall I will
