Mr. Herman Lanting is now a patient in
the Wingham and District Hospital. He has
been in ill health at home here for
sometime and we wish him improved
health.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald visited
with Mrs. Esie Bloomfield at Paisley this
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stapleton of Wingham
spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Bushell and girls.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lane and Mrs. Frank
Maulden returned home from a nice. visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips at
Fonthill.
Visitors this past week with Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Haldenby and family were Mr.

The Lucknow Legion sponsored a Hallo-
ween Dance this year and some of the
costumes looked excellent. Delores Cross,
Phyllis Mathews, Jan Hayes and Volaine
Hodgins looked great as convicts while
Tammara Hodgins was by far the best
shark at the dance. Linda Cranston and
Pat Livingston were hardly recognizable
as witches (! ). Honorable mentions have
to go to Jaon Robinson, Henry Clark, Pen-
ny Thomas and Karen Johnston with the
bobby prize going to Ken Johnston.

Happy birthday Hacketts
The families of Ruby and Cliff Hackett
gathered at the Candlelight Tavern on Sun-
day last to celebrate their 80th birthdays.
In attendance were Ruby's children,
Gordon of Price George, B.C., Bernice of
Lucknow, Ralph of Nile, Lois of Sheparton
and Joyce of Exeter.
Cliff's sons, Lorne and Chester of
Lucknow, also joined in the celebrations
along with grandchildren, great grand-
children, sisters and brothers.
Attending from a distance were Ruby's
son, Gordon of B.C., her granddaughter
Sharon Trommeshauser of Victoria, B.G.,
her sister Violet Anderson and husband
Sam of Arcola, Sask.
Relatives also attended from Kincar-
dine, Sarnia, Clinton, Listowel, Whitby,
Port Elgin, Kippen, Stratford, Belle River,
Toronto, St. Thomas and surrounding com-
munities of Goderich and Lucknow.
Messages of congratulations were
received from Brian Mulroney, Jack Rid-
dell and Murray Cardiff.
The birthday couple received many love-
ly gifts, cards and flowers while the 100
guests enjoyed a lovely smorgasbord
meal.
Family and friends of Rudy and Cliff
wish them many more happy years
together.
