Knitters, here's a chance to put your
talent to work for a good cause.
If you can knit, and you would like to
help make sure Canadian kids keep warm
this winter, Knit for Kids needs you.
A program organized by Lewiscraft in
co-operation with The Salvation Army and
Paton's, Knit for Kids is aimed at pro-
viding mittens, scarves and hats to needy
children across the country.
Participating knitters who purchase
designated yarn from Lewiscraft will be
provided with free patterns for warm mit-
tens and other knitted items.
Consumers may return completed
garments to the store along with the
receipt of purchase for the yarn and
Lewiscraft will reimburse the entire pur-
chase price.
All knitted items will be distributed t
youngsters in need by members of The
Salvation Army in time for Christmas.
The program began on a local level in
Ottawa last year when customers of one
store donated more than 200 pairs of han
dknit mitts for children there. This season
it goes national. All 56 Lewiscraft stores
across Canada are participating in the
Knit for Kids campaign which continues
until mid-December.
For more information either contact
your local Lewiscraft store or write to
Lewiscraft, 40 Commander Blvd., Scar-
borough, Ont. M1S 3C2.
