Checked out the bees
In that nice sunny weather last Thursday
afternoon we walked down to Finlay Street
corner to see if the swarm of bees from the
Liz Large garden last July was still alive,
and it was enjoying the sunny day.
On the way back here, we were talking to
Mrs. Dora Schaus when we saw a small
patch of mushrooms. She was right "on"
when .she named them "Shaggy Mane". I
was a bit surprised and wondered if anyone
else in Ripley would know them.
In Grade 9 Science, there used to be a part
about weather facts. We tested one last Sat.
- '`Rain before seven - stop before eleven".
It did. It was raining at six and stopped at
10:30, then raining again at 2:30. What a wet
and dreary day and all those corn wagons
across the street here.
