Class 7 Arts and Crafts - Directors in
charge wrote that there was a good display
in our painting sections which was up from
last year. It is always nice to see the baby
pictures. Most points in the class were 1st,
Marg Gemmell, 2nd, Gloria Feirier, and
3rd, Marie Inkster. Directors ..were Susan
Van Sickle, Margaret Smith, Karen Stanley,
Debbie Armstrong.
Class 8 Junior. Section open to boys and
girls 18 years and under. Directors in
charge were Carol Blackwell, of 15th south,
Diane Brooks of Paramount, and Barb Lid-
dle con. 2. They reported in writing - a very
good showing was made in the ,Junior Sec-
tion this year. There were 60 exhibitors
showing 264 exhibits .which was up com-
pared to last year. The section for Junior
Field crops was very well received. It really
added- to the Junior Section: Keep -up -the
good work - Junior Exhibitors.
Class 9 Spinning and Weaving - This craft
was well represented by local spinners and
weavers. The majority of the entries were in
the. handspun categories. The overall point
winner was Sharon Feltham of Kuicardine.

report on the show in the Complex.
Class 10 Entries for Senior Citizens - Com-
mittee - Elva Lowry, Ruth Farrell, Dorothy
Brooks, Mary Brooks. Most Points in this
class, first - Frank Gemmell, second - Grace
Murray, thrid - Zilla Hedley.
Thanks to the lady directors for these
reports of the show in the Complex. It was
kind of them to do them after a tong Friday
setting up the display and recording the
prizes and assisting the judge.
Will carry the torch
Mary Sled, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
George sled of Stouffville is one of five
residents in her area chosen to carry the
Olympic torch for the 1988 Winter Olympics.
Mary is a grade 13 student at Stouffville
District Secondary School and is the
daughter of the former Shirley Culbert and
the granddaughter of Annie Culbert.
Mary is an avid sports enthusiast and has
been involved in all areas of high school life
including the band, the choir, Student's
Council, Variety Show, intramural and var-
sity sports. She is a member of the Perfect
System and Co-organizer of SADD,
(Students Against Drunk Driving
Mary will be carrying the torch Dec. 22
which is Day 36 of the relay. The course that
she will take is somewhere along Highway 7
between Green River and Unionville. She,
along with all other participants will receive
a toque and track suit for their part in the
. relay. Mary feels honoured to be chosen to
join more than 2,000 from Ontario and more
than 6,500 across Canada in the torch relay.
