Everyone was in attendance. The meeting was opened with the 4-H pledge, followed by the Roll Call for which we all had to show the advertisements we designed for an Ontario fruit. The ads pro- ved to be very interesting. We discussed various methods of preparing vegetables. Everyone then was assigned to a different method of cooking carrots. We then tasted them and decided we enjoyed the boiled carrots the best. Meeting 4 discussed Food Production in Ontario. For the next meeting, we all have to write a one -minute advertisement for an Ontario Vegetable. Sharon Van Osch prepared stir -fried vegetables. They were not enjoyed by all, although a few people liked them. Sandra Van Osch prepared the strawberry - rhubarb punch which seemed to be en- joyed by all. We closed the meeting with the 4-H motto. The average zinnia, during an average growing season, will normally grow to three, possibly four feet but with the special tender loving care bestowed on .them by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Greer of Lucknow, these fellas just wouldn't stop until they topped the six foot mark. Mrs. Greer assured us that no special fertilizer was used and that next year, the giant zinnias would be moved away from the windows.
