BY PAM WILLIAMS
The Day Centre for the Homebound
would like to thank everyone who sup-
ported our recent fundraising events. The
Centre continues to provide social and
recreational programs for "homebound"
older adults in northern Huron County and
southern Bruce county.
The Day Centre is located in the
Wingham Armoury and soon that building
will be under going renovations so we will
be moving "down the street" to the
Wingham United Church for a few weeks.
Thanksgiving will be a week long
celebration at the centre when we will be
enjoying turkey dinners with all the trim-
mings. Mrs. Machons', Family Studies
class from F.E. Madill Secondary School
will be joining in our celebrations on
Thursday October 8. We'll have lots of ap-
ple cider on hand to quench our thirst.
On October 13 and 14, the film "Living
Water" will be viewed at the centre. The
film shows the beauty of autumn as the
filmmakers travel up an Ontario river by
canoe and film the colourful scenery.

There will not be a regular program at
the centre on Thursday October 15 as the
local hospital auxilary will be organizing
their rummage sale at the armoury. •
By the time October 20 rolls around, it
might be too late for a fall colour tour but
we're planning one any way! A bus trip to
the Hawkesville - St. Jacobs area is plann-
ed and the highlight will be a terrific meal
at a Mennonite restaurant in that area.
Join us for a day out.
The next foot t clinic will be on Wednes-
day October 21. Please call 357-1440 or
357-1445 for an appointment.
Plan your costumes for our special
Halloween party set for Thursday October
29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy music pro-
vided by Gords' Olde Tyme Music and
have some fun.
We'd appreciate any help or ideas for
our craft program at/the centre. Let us
know if you could be of any assistance.
A thought for the month is. "Don't sit
back and wait to see what happens, take'
hold and make it happen."
