The bride is the daughter of Roy and Bet- ty Pennington, Wingham. The groom is the son of Don and Jean Ross of Whitechurch. Liz Drennan, Lucknow, friend of the bride was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Pennington, Waterloo and Vickie Belanger, London, both friends of the bride. Dave Ross of Whitechurch, brother to the groom acted as best man. Ushers in- cluded Allan Pennington, Wingham, brother of the bride, and Brian Ross, brother of the groom. Organist for the ceremony was Lynn Fischer, cousin of the bride. Soloist was Frank Renwick, friend of the family and the poen reader was Shelby Alton ' of Calgary, cousin of the bride. The eouple welcomed friends and relatives from Calgary, Orleans, Kit - 41. off" — Pennington - Ross Lois Marie Pennington and Robert John Ross were united in marriage August 15, 1987 at the Teeswater United Church. Rev. Arnold Proud of Niagara Falls conducted chener, Waterloo, Wiarton, London, Owen Sound and the surrounding areas. After their holiday on the East Coast, the couple returned to their home in Waterloo. Bob is employed by Hewlett-Packard as a mechanical designer and Lois by St. John's Nursery School as a teacher and supervisor. Rev. R.J. Roberts was the officiating minister. The organist for the ceremony was Marilyn Copiland of Kitchener with Ruth • Alton of RR7 Lucknow as soloist. The bride is the daughter of D.A. and Evelyn Hackett of RR3 Lucknow while the groom is the son of Karl and Joan Melitzer of Waterloo. Matron of Honor was Joan Hays of Wroxeter, sister to the bride. Bridesmaids were Pam VanDyke of RR3 Lucknow and Sharon Nivins of RR7 Lucknow, friends of the bride as well as Cheryl Faxton of Wingham, cousin of the bride. Kelly Litt of St., Jacob's, niece of the bride, was flowergirl. Richard Hays of Wroxeter, nephew of the bride, was ringbaerer. The best man for the ceremony was John Arnold of Kitchener, a friend of the groom. The guests were ushered by Peter Ludwig of Kitchener and Jim Himsl of Waterloo, friends of the groom and by Paul Hackett of RR3 Lucknow, brother to the bride. Dinner and reception was held at the Lucknow Community Centre. JOYNT-Jessie and George Joynt are hap- py to announce the safe arrival of their first grandchild, Torben Wesley Nielsen, born September 20, 1987 in the Toronto General Hospital. His proud parents are Jane and Jann Nielsen. Cecil and Wilma Sutton of .Purple Grove attended meetings for Men for Missions at Fair Havens Camp near Beaverton from Friday morning till Sunday evening. Janice and Rachel Miller of Thorndale and Kathy and Jared Martin of Kitchener all visited Janet and Jack Farrell over the weekend. Janet is coming along well. Fran .. and Jim Farrell, Ken and Brenda Bridge attended the 30th anniversary of the Bruce County Dairy Princess Competition, Saturday evening. Brenda was the 1981 Dairy Princess. Other local winners through the years were June Gilchrist 1958-9, Ruth Anne Robinson 1959-60, Mrs. Bernice Campbell 1963, Nancy Brown 1968, Sherry Pollock 1972, Katherine ( Craig ) Dowing 1973, Donna ( Craig) Gander 1974, Janice Needham 1984, and this year Janet Lane was runner up. Sandra and family 'visited Mrs. Douglas Graham of Pine Crest, Sunday evening. Lzo Glavin Leo Glavin of East Wawanosh Township died at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 1987 in his 35th year. He is survived by his wife the former Margaret Franken, daughter Barbara Lynn and Carolyne, both at home. Mr. Glavin was a son of John A. and Theresa Glavin of R. 2, Crediton. He is also survived by his sisters Joan and Larry .Wismer of Kitchener, Eileen and Gary Loomis of R. 3, Ailsa Craig; brothers Don and Darlene Glavin of R 3, Ailsa Craig, Ken and Mary Glavin of R. 2, Crediton, Dan and Sue Glavin of Marithon; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Bill in 1972. Friends called at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Wednesday last with Mass of the Christian Burial celebrated at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, St. Augustine on Thursday. Family prayers were held in the funeral home on Wednes- day. , Interment St. Augustine Cemetery. Donations to St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Doris Ruby MacDougall Doris Ruby MacDougall of Bayfield passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon- don on Thursday, September 17, 1987. Doris was born in Midland on March 12, 1909 to Joseph and Elizabeth Soden. On Ju- ly 5, 1952 she married Harvey MacDougall formerly of Kinloss Township. Doris had taught school for many years in Toronto. She and her husband Harvey retired to Bayfield in 1978. There she en- joyed hobbies of flowers and painting. Doris MacDougall is predeceased by her husband, Harvey in May of this year. She is survived by Lloyd and Ann MacDougall, Jack and Blanche (MacDougall) ,Needham of Lucknow, Clair and Minnie MacDougall of Port Credit as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial services was held in Bayfield United Church on Sunday, September 20 with Rev. Hoekstra of- ficiating. Following cremation, interment was made in ,South Kinloss Cemetery.
