Jean Gertrude Johnston
Jean Gertrude (Gaunt) Johnston died on
Friday, September 4, 1987 in Wingham and
District Hospital, at the age of 84.
Mrs. Johnston resided in Ashfield
Township and was a member of the St.
Peter's Anglican Church, Lucknow.
Mrs. Johnston was the daughter of the
late Joseph Gaunt and Mary Anne Purdie.
On December 28, 1925 she married Fred
Johnston, who predeceased her in 1971.4..
Two daughters, Lois Johnston, Ottawa
and Freda, Mrs. Brian Bailey, London and
two sons Floyd of Kincardine and Bob of
Ripley survive.
Mrs. Johnston is also survived by a
sister Mrs. Josephine MacTavish of
Lucknow; two brothers Ernest and Harold
Gaunt of West 'Wawanosh Township; ten
grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnston was predeceased by one
son Allan in 1974 and two sisters, Majeska
Scott and Madeline Durnin.
The funeral service was conducted from
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home,
Lucknow on Sunday, September 6, at 3
p.m., by Rev. M. Letson of St. Peter's
Anglican Church.
Flower bearers were Doug, Rick, Larry
and Gary Johnston.
Pallbearers were Bob Lyons, Harold
Cooke, Donnie Gaunt, Doug Gaunt, Harold
Scott and Jack Scott.
Burial followed at Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow where a graveside service was
held.
William Pettigrew
William Pettigrew of RR2 Tiverton pass-
ed away on Friday, August 28, 1987 at the
Victoria Hospital, London.
William was born May 16, 1919 in
Aryshire, Scotland, the son of George Pet-
tigrew and Ellen Matheson. He came to
Canada in 1928 and attended the Kinlough
School. In 1934 he moved with his family to
Kincardine Township to the farm of James
Malcolm.
William married Helen Tout in Tiverton
on April 23, 1938.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four
sons, Donald of Georgetown, Kenneth of
Tiverton, Bill of Edmonton and Tom of
Toronto; four daughters, Margaret, Mrs.
Peter Harper of Kincardine; Ruth, Mrs.
Charles Moore of Troy, Michigan; Karen,
Mrs. Thomas McNeill of Milton; and Joan
of Tiverton; 12 grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Camp-
bell, Kincardine; Sadie, Mrs. Bill Habkirk,
Aylmer; Agnes Thompson, Lucknow; and
Sheila, Mrs. Art Baker of London and a
brother, George, of Trail B.C.
Mr. Pettigrew was a member of the
Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton and
the Royal Canadian Legion, Kincardine
Branch.
A Legion Service was held on Sunday
evening. Rev. Douglas Black conducted
the funeral service on Monday, August 31,
1987 at the Davey-Kinklater Funeral
Home.
Pallbearers included Jim Hutton, Dick
Edmiston, Jim Inkster, Albert Shewfelt,
Orville Trowse and Ernie Greer. •
Flowerbearers were grandsons Chip and
Mike Moore, Jeff Pettigrew, Doug Purves
and Ken Woodful and nephew Rodger
Campbell.
Interment in the Kincardine Cemetery.
Shetler - Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shetler of
R. 2 Lucknow announce with pleasure the
birth of their son Atlee on September- 7,
1987 in Wingham District Hospital. Atlee
weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. and is a brother for
Toby, Josey, Mary, Ella and Katie.
Van Osch - Terrie and Jim are pleased to
announce the early arrival of their first
child, Rachel Anne, on August 22, 1987 at
Woodstock General Hospital, weighing 6
lbs. 6 oz. Grandaughter to Bill and Anne
Van Osch, Kintail and Lorne and Margaret
Radke, Sault Ste. Marie. A great gran -
daughter to Berdina Jans, Holland.
Goll - Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Goll of Wingham
are pleased to announce the birth of their
daughter Vanessa, weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. on
September 6, 1987 in Wingham District
Hospital. Vanessa is a wee sister for
Leslie, Stephanie, Laura and Julia.
Vander Meer - Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Vander Meer of R. 3 Wingham are the pro-
ud parents of a son Joshua Ryan. Joshua
arrived on August 31, 1987 in Wingham
District Hospital and weighed in at 8 lbs. 2
oz.
Procter - Peggy, Candice and Nicole Pro-
cter welcome with love their new brother
Kyle Stewart, who was born on August 31,
1987 in Wingham District Hospital,
weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz. Mom and Dad are
Laurie and Cameron Procter of R. 5
Brussels. Kyle's great grandmother is
Mrs. Alice Procter.
GOETZ-Mike and Laurie are pleased to
announce the birth of their daughters
Michelle Anne and Robin Elizabeth. The
twins are little sisters for Brian and were
born Monday, August 24, 1987. The pair
weighed 6lbs, 5oz and 5lbs, lloz at birth.
