Gathering of Unit Four
Unit 4 of the Lucknow United Church
Women met on Tuesday, September 1
beginning the evening with a pot -luck
supper.
Mrs. Bob Finlay chaired the meeting
which was opened by a vocal solo tendered
by Mrs. Gerald McFarlane.
The theme for the devotions was 'En-
counters at the Well'. The scripture was
read in dialogue form by Mrs. Finlay, Mrs.
George McBride and Mrs. Dan Logan.
Mrs. McBride followed with meditation on
the women at the well.
The next order of business was to divide
the ladies into groups for a questionnaire
and Bible study. Mrs. Cliff Crawford clos-
ed devotions with a prayer.
Mrs. McBride read a poem, `Gathering
at the Well' and the offerings were taken.
A letter from the Canadian Foster
Parents Plan was read by Mrs. Logan and
the program was closed with a prayer
from Mrs. Findlay.
Mrs. Cam Thompson presided over the
business portion of the evening's meeting.
Twenty-one members answered the roll
call with an interesting note about their
vacation.
Thanks was expressed to those who
helped at the home -coming weekend and it
was announced that Rally Day will take
place on Sunday, September 27. A special
story -teller will be present at that time.
The reports were given next. Mrs.
McBride reported on supply while Mrs.
Crawford answered questions on com-
munity friendship. Flowers were handled
by Mrs. A.J. Wilson; Mrs. Clarence Rit-
chie reported on the social functions;
amnesty was covered by Mrs. Gordon
Cayley and Mrs. Ken Cameron gave her
