The little ones are heading back to school; some to high school and some for the first time to kindergarten. In South Kinloss we are pleased to report that the following young people are off to universty or college: Heather MacDougall is attending the University of Windsor where she is taking her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Heather Maclntyre is taking her second year of Hotel nad Restaurant Management at Sheridan Colleg in Brampton. Helen Maclntyre is returning for her third year at the Unversity of Waterloo. Julie Clark is returning for her second year to Brampton where she is studying Social Services at Sheridan College. Kelley McBride is off to the University of Waterloo to major in Math. Katherine Howald is going back to the University of Waterloo for her second year in the honor Applied Chemistry Program. Katherine is now working in Timmins for three months on this program. JoAnne deBoer is attending the Univer- sity of Guelph where she is taking her Bachelor of Science. Mary Downey is going to Conestoga Col- lege in Kitchener to take her first year of Recreational Leadership. Gary Forster is going to Sheridan Col- lege in Milton where he will be taking a course in heavy equipment operation. Danny Gilchrist is off to the University of Waterloo and is taking a math course as well as Computer Science. We wish the best of luck to these studious ladies and gentlemen. Also this week, congratulations to Laurie and Wayne Bell on the birth of their new daughter, Angela. Fall programs at the library This week marks the start-up of the regular weekly programs at the Lucknow Branch Library. There promises to be something for everyone, so don't be left out. There is no charge to attend these programs. For the pre-schoolers, ages 3 to 5, there is Story Hour every Friday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. when kids will hear stories, play games, watch movies and even do crafts. At the same time, for the parents, there is a film program upstairs. These movies cover a wide scope of topics and are open to the public at large. For all children ages 3 to 12, there are fun movies every Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. so come to town and drop off the kids while you shop. We are pleased to announce a new pro- gram this year called Book Pals which is an exchange club for 8 to 14 year olds in which they recommend books they en- joyed to their 'pal' fromthe Walkerton Branch Library who has similar reading interests. Now is the time to stop in and register for this exciting program. For the adults in the area, we are hoping to run a film series if enough interest is shown. If you are interested, please come in this week and fill out a survey form as to what type and lenght of movies you'd like to see.
