C. W. holds Fun Day On the church grounds on Thursday afternoon, the A.C.W. held a Fun Day for the Sunday school children and the young - at -heart. The young mothers had games for the youth group and the senior ladies worked on the new seat -covers for the church pews. Following these activities, all went inside to the basement where the organization committee had a lovely hot dog lunch complete with all the extras. It was a fine afternoon of fun and fellowship. A tray was passed around and everyone had a prize to take home. The regular meeting wasn't held because of the event but certain business had to be discussed and decided on. The September meeting will be dining out day and since this falls on election day, the meeting will be held on the Friday. Some from the area travelled to attend the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Walker on Friday evening at Teeswater. We send our congratulations to them. Kinlough friends send get well wishes to Mrs. Mel King (Evelyn Nicolson) who underwent major surgery in Mississauga Hospital but has since returned to her home at Woodstcok. Her mother, Mrs. Bert Nicholson and sister Lois are with her for a while. Mr. and Mr. Gerald Rhody and Matt went to London' on Friday to help get Marilyn moved into her new home. Marianne and Michele Rhody of London stopped in during the week while they were there. Mrs. Mary Stewart of Millarton and Mrs. Frank Maulden were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald on Tuesday. Sympathy is extended to the Pettigrew family on the death of the late Bill Pet- tigrew who grew up in our community. Mrs. Helen Haldenby is a neice. Mrs. Jean Hughes of Paisley, Scotland celebrated her 80th birthday at the home of her daughter Anne Nicholson and her three granddaughters Lynne, Caryn and Dawn. Among relatives and friends at the party were Mrs. Jane Hamilton of Lucknow and Mr. David Hughes of Billericay, Essex, United Kingdom, younger brother of Anne. David will be spending next week with neices in Ottawa. Mrs. Fred Page of Con. 10 is a patient in the Orthopedic and Arthritis Hospital in Toronto where she underwent surgery on Wednesday. Our best wishes to her. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson on Sun- day and on Thursday with Andrew Mac- Tavish at Walkerton. Mr. Ralph Haldenby was glad to have his wife Lorraine up from Guelph for the weekend and to visit with his parents at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Stam and family visited on Sunday with Mrs. Frank Halden- by. Miss Evelyn Hupfer of Wingham also visited. Miss Winnifred Percy and Mrs. Frank Maulden called on Mrs. Mary Campbell at Kincardine and also at the funeral home where the late Bill Pettigrew was resting on Sunday. Mrs. Jean Betts was a recent dinner guest of Lorraine and Bill MacPherson of Holyrood. Lorraine travelled back to Hamilton with Jean for a few days. Graham and Bessie MeNee of Nile celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday at Nile United Church. They were married at Mrs. Graham's home on Aug. 28, 1937. They have four children: Allen lives in London, Eric lives in Dungannon, Donna (Mrs. Jim Hayden) lives in Port Albert and Ken is deceased.
