James William Houston
James William Houston of Teeswater
passed away at the Wingham and District
Hospital on Tuesday, August 11, 1987. He
was 63 years, of .age.
James was born on May 12, 1924 to David
and Marie . Houston in the Township of
Kinloss. He is survived by four children,
Brian of Wiarton and Carolyn, Jamie and
Cheryl all of Paisley as well as sisters Mrs.
Joyce Doerr of RR2 Wingllam and Mrs.
Kathleen Cassidy of Teeswater. He is
predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home
on Friday, August' 14 at 2 p.m. with Rev. G.
McFarlane officiating. James William
Houston was laid to rest at the South
Kinloss Cemetery.
Livingston Menary
Livingston Menary passed away on
August 3, 1987 at his residence at RR5
Lucknow. Born to Jessie and William
Menary on April 13, 1910, he was in his 78th
year.
Livingston, a retired farmer, was a
member of the Trinity United Church. He
is survived by his wife, Pearl of Lucknow,
sister and brothers Louisa Reid of
Lucknow, Hugh Menary . of Ashfield
Township, Phil Menary of West Wawanosh
and Cliff Menary of Lucknow as well as
several nieces and nephews. He is
predeceased by his parents and a brother
Vance Menary.
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home handled the details of the funeral
services officiated by Rev. Daniel Arm-
strong of the Trinity United Church on
Thursday, August 6. Flower bearers for
the service included four nephews Barry
Menary, Ronald Menary, Ivan Cranston
and Brian Cranston.
Pallbearers for the service were Cliff
Kilpatrick, Martin Hendriks, Russell Ir-
vin, Bill Phillips, Gordon Saunders and
Warren Zinn.
Livingston Meanry was laid to rest dur-
ing a graveside service at the Greenhill
Cemetery and will be sadly missed by all
those who knew him.
Ezra Henry Stanley
Ezra Henry Stanley of Lucknow passed
away at the University Hospital in London
on July 19 in his 77th year. He was born in
Greenoch Township in the County of Bruce
to Mr. and Mrs Edward Stanley in March
of 1911.
In July of 1935, Ezra married Lulu
Kaake of Kinloss, in the Chalmers United
Church. The couple had seven children,
Beverly of Mississauga, Douglas of Har-
riston, Floyd of Ripley, Leonard of
Kinlough, Larry of Kincardine, Arthur of
Holyrood and Sharon now living in
Mississauga.
Ezra Henry Stanley was an active
member of the Kinlough Pentecostal
Church for 35 years and retired from farm-
ing in 1969 after 30 years on the land in the
Township of Kinloss.
He is survived by his wife, a sister Mar-
retta Hodgins of Niagara Falls and a
brother Leonard Stanley of Mason,
Michigan as well as 15 grandchildren.
Ezra is predeceased by five brothers and
seven sisters as well as his parents.
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home handled the arrangements for the
funeral and service held at the Kinlough
Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, July
22. Rev. Marvin Christiansen officiated
while Mrs. Amy Reist and Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Thirsk acted as soloists. Connie
Howald, Cathy Stanley, Cindy Stanley,
Terry Stanley, Deane and Kerry Stanley,
Trent and Rhonda Stanley, Dani -Jane
Tollefson and Ashley Bedford acted as
flower bearers for the ceremony.
Pallbearers for Ezra Stanley included
Gordon McKinnon, Ray Stanley, Dennis
Stanley, Kent Tollefson, Bradley Tollefson
and Shawn Stanley. A graveside service
was held at the Durham Road Baptist
Cemetery.
Ezra Henry Stanley was a wonderful
christian who dearly loved the Lord. He
was a kind, loving husband, father and
grandpa who will be sadly missed. Many
tears of joy were shed and will be shed in
remembrance of this great man.
MRS. NORA VIVIAN SINNETT
Mrs. Nora Vivian Sinnett of,
Gaithersburg, Maryland, djed at her
residence on Friday, July 31 at the age of
94.
Born in Michigan on January 13, 1893,
she was the daughter of the late John
Westrope. She was a retired nurse.
Mrs. Sinnett was predeceased by her
husband Edmund Sinnett, two brothers,
one sister, one grandson and one great
grandson.
Surviving are children Katherine and
her husband John Trieweiler of Seattle,
Washington; Patricia and her husband
Joseph O'Brien of Gaithersburg,
Maryland; Shannon Kellenbeck of Denver,
Colorado; Jaynes and his wife Yvonne of
Ashfield Township; and Dennis and his
wife Kathleen of Detroit, Michigan. Also
surviving are 21 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Jim Sinnett
family home in Kingsbridge. Funeral
mass was held at St. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge, on Wednesday, August 5 with
Father Raphael O'Loughlin celebrating
the mass and Father Edward Dentinger
was the co celebrant.
Flower bearers were Sheila Nelson,
Patricia O'Brien, Jennifer Miltenburg,
Yvonne Kuik, Linda Sinnett and Lisa
Sinnett.
Pallbearers were Joseph O'Brien,
Mathew O'Brien, Edmund Sinnett,
Thomas Sinnett, James Sinnett and
Donald Kuik.
Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery,
Kingsbridge.
EVA DOLLY BRUCE
Eva Dolly Bruce of Goderich, died in
Maitland Manor, her residence for the past
six years, on Tuesday, August 4, in her
100th year.
She was born on March 28, 1888 in
Yorkshire, England. Mrs. Bruce was a
long-time summer resident of Goderich
and moved here permanently from Toron-
to in 1977. She was an avid golfer and a Life
Member of Maitland Country Club where
she continued to play into her 80's. She had
taken up art again in her later years and
after her golfing days were over she deriv-
ed a great deal of pleasure from painting,
and her pictures are on many walls of a
number of homes in Goderich.
,She waspredeceased by her husband,
Mr. George A. Bruce in 1961 and eleven
brothers and sisters. Surviving are three
daughters and one son; Nina (Mrs.
William Thomas) of Sarnia; Thomas
Douglas Bruce of Vancouver; Jean (Mrs.
Stewart Knight) of Goderich; and
Margaret (Mrs. James Ubukata) of Vic-
toria. She is also survived by 11 grand-
children and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral and committal services were
held at McCallum and Palia Funeral
Home on Thursday, August 6 with
Reverend Douglas Pitts of St. George's
Anglican Church conducting the service.
Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial
Gardens, Scarborough, Ontario.

Mrs. William Townson of Sudbury is
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dickie and on
the weekend, they all went to Lateer,
Michigan to attend the golden wedding
celebration of cousins Ben and Beulah.
Minford. On their way home on Sunday,
they had the chance to visit with Mrs. Mac-
Donald and Margaret in Sarnia.
Mrs. Grace MacIver and Ronald of Lon-
don visited last week with Ira and
Elizabeth Dickie and Sarah Townson.
Eldon and Alma Lowry of Kincardine
were supper guests on Sunday with Olive
Needham.
Irene Dickie, Karissa and Shae spent
last week at Hope Bay at the cottage there.
William joined them for the weekend.
