Dungannon celebrate its annual fair
by Carol Nivins while two sections were
won by Jo -Anne Smyth who also took top
points in the baking class.
There was a tie between Louise Brindley
and Margaret Errington for top honors in
one section of preserving while Marjorie
Hartleib won the other preserving class
and overall points.
Louise Brindley had the most points in
the Horticulural class while Robert Wright
won overall in the Vegetable class.
Beginner Homebaking was won by
Bradley Hodges and Jodi Riley won in
Junior Homebaking. Debbie and Barb
Nivins tied for Teen Homebaking. Jason
and Jacquiline Pentland tied for overall
points in the Junior Fruit and Vegetable
class.
Once again the Dungannon Fair has
wrapped up for another year but many
other events sponsored by the Agricultural
Society continue year-round.
Next Sunday, August 23, the Horse and •
Antique Tractor Pull, rescheduled because
of rain, will be held on the Fair Grounds
starting at 1. p.m. The Antique Farm
Equipment display will be available for
viewing at the same time. Remember, a
salad plate will be offered between 4 and
6:30 p.m.so bring the family and enjoy the
fun.
A country band, accompanied by a youthful guest dancer, enter-
tained Dungannon fair -goers with some old-time music at the
