Ruby Gwendoline Phillips
Ruby Phillips of Kitchener died on
Saturday, August 1, 1987 at her residence
165 Arnold Street, at the age of 67.
She is survived by her husband Jas. E.
Phillips, sons Terry of Saskatchewan and
David of Kitchener.
A brother Len Hamilton of England also
survives as well as six grandchildren.
Funeral service was held in the chapel of
the Edward R. Good Funeral Home,
Waterloo on Tuesday, August 4, at 2 p.m.
with Rev. Bill Johnston officiating. Inter-
ment Memory Gardens.
As expressions of sympathy donations
may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society or the Heart and Stroke Founda-
tion of Ontario.
Charles James Taylor
Charles James Taylor of Lucknow, a
retired farmer, died in Wingham and
District Hospital, on July 29, 1987 at the
age of 88.
Born in Sullivan Township on April 25,
1899, he was a son of the late William
Taylor and Barbara Anne Ross.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his nieces
Muriel (Mrs.Gordon) Montgomery of
Agincourt, Helen (Mrs. Selwyn) Cobden of
INF Thornhill and a nephew Ross Paterson of
Kapaskasing.
He was predeceased by his parents, one
sister and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Saturday,
August 1 at the MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Home, Lucknow, with Rev. A.

Darren Henry, formerly a student of the
Lucknow Public School, recently
graduated from Collingwood's Mountain
View Public School. Darren was voted the
top male student of the year by the local.
Chamber of Commerce. Among his other
accomplishments this year were the Cross
Country Club, Citizenship, volleyball and
the Academic Challenge. Darren is the son
of Lorne Henry of Ripley and Evelyn Fin-
nigan of Goderich.
Ramsay officiating and Donalda Moffat as
organist.
Pallbearers were Selwyn Cobden, Ross
Paterson, Richard Baker, Wayne Mon-
tgomery, Gordon Donaldson and Jack
Ross.
Burial was in Langside Cemetery.
John Angus Maclntrye
A well know resident of Wingham, John
Angus Maclntrye, passed away in the
Wingham and District Hospital on Mon-
day, July 27, 1987 after a lengthy illness.
He was in his 80th year.
Born September 11, 1907 on the 4th Con-
cession of Kinloss near Langside, he was
the son of the late Dan Maclntyre and
Katherine Matheson Maclntyre. He at-
tended the rural school number 9 and the
Lucknow Continuation School.
On November 25, 1936, John married
Florence Purdon. The couple farmed for a
number of years and later John worked as
a carpenter. In 1952 he opened the Macln-
tyre Bakery in Wingham where he worked
until 1963 when his son Grant took over the
business. John continued to help in the
bakery as long as his health permitted.
John loved his church and was a
member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, Wingham. He was a member of
the Wingham Masonic Lodge which held a
service at the fjuneral home on July 28.
John was also a member of the Blue Water
Shrine Club.
Surviving are his wife Florence of
Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow and his family
Grant and Marie Maclntyre of Wingham,
William (Bill) and Marion Maclntyre of
London, five grandchildren, five great
grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Ted
Collyer (Margaret) of Lucknow and Mrs.
Graham Pinkney (Mary) of Ajax.
The funeral service for John A. Macln-
tyre was held Wednesday, July 29 at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham. Rev.
Jonh P. Vaudry of the Wingham
Presbyterian Church officiated.
Pallbearers included five grandsons
Lonnie Whitfield, Bruce Maclntyre, Doug
Maclntyre, Micheal Maclntyre, • Mark
Maclntyre and a friend, Gordon Baxter.
Flower bearers were granddaughters
Marilyn Whitfield, Carol Maclntyre and
Janet Maclntyre.
Interment was at the Wingham
Cemetery.
Relatives attending the funeral from a
distance were Mr. Angus MacKay and his
sister Mrs. Peggy Matkdvitch of Detroit,
Mr. and Mrs. Hector Purdon of Strathroy
and Mr. and Mrs. Athol Purdon of Port
Colborne.
Livingston Menary
Livingston Menary passed away on
August 3, 1987 at his residence at RR5
Lucknow. Born to Jessie and Willaim
Mewhinney on April 13, 1910, he was in his
77th year.
Livingston, a retired farmer, was a
member of the Trinity United Church. He
is survived by his wife, Pearl, of Lucknow,
brothers and sisters Louisa Reid of
Lucknow, Hugh Menary of the Ashfield
Township, Phil Menary of West Wawanosh
and Cliff Menary of Lucknow-as well as
several neices and nephews. He is
predeceased by his parents and a brother
Vance Menary.
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home handled the details of the funeral
services officiated by Rev. Daniel Arm-
strong in the Trinity United Church on
Thursday, August 6. Flower bearers for
the service included Barry Menary,
Ronald Menary, Ivan Cranston and Brian
Cranston.
Pall bearers for the service were Cliff
Kilpatrick, Martin Hnedricks, Russel Ir-
vin, Bill Phillips, Gordon Saunders and
Warren Zinn.
Livingston Menary was laid to rest dur-
ing a graveside service at the Greenhill
Cemetery and will be sadly missed by ail
those who knew him. -
David Rendall
David Rendall, 41, second vice-president
of the Board of Directors, United Co-
operatives of Ontario, has died in a farm
accident. The accident took place late
Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 1987 on his
farm near Arthur, a community approx-
imately 30 kilometres .west of Orangeville.
Rendall, who is survived by his wife
Donna and two teenaged children, was an
active member of the community and his
co-operative.
David and Donna operated a 400 acre
century farm where they grew cash crops
and raised beef. David was an elder of the
United Church, a director of the Arthur
Agricultural Society, charter Kinsman,
and past director of the Arthur Big
Brothers Committee. •
'Funeral services were held at the Arthur
United Church at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July
31, 1987. •
Blake - Kirkland
Suzanne Arlene Kirkland and Douglas
James Blake exchanged wedding vows on
May 9, 1987 in the Lucknow Presbyterian
Church, with Reverend Allison J. Ramsay
officiating. The parents of the bride and
groom are Mr. and Mrs. David Kirkland of
R. No. 2, Lucknow and Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Blake, R. No. 2, Goderich.
Suzanne's matron of honor was her
sister, Annette Hendriks of R. 7, Lucknow.
Bridesmaids were her sister-in-law, Carla
Blake of Burlington and a friend, Audrey
Phillips of R. No. 7, Lucknow.
Henry Hendriks, R. No. 7 Lucknow, the
groom's brother-in-law, acted as
groomsman.
A brother of the groom, Bev Blake of
Burlington and friend, Bob Phillips of Kit-
chener were ushers.
A reception was held at the Lucknow
District Community Centre following the
wedding. Suzanne and Doug honeymooned
in the Dominican Republic and now are
residing in Kitchener.

Scott -Doug and Nolda Scott are pleased to
'announce the arrival of their daughter
Amanda Maria on July 31, 1987 at the Vic-
toria Hospital, Westminister Campus Lon-
don. Amanda Maria weighed in at 8 lbs at
her birth and is a sister for Garry, Steven
and Daniel. She is a first granddaughter
for Ries and Marie Miltenburg and a fifth
for Robert Scott of Ashfield.
