This week Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce
are seeking public assistance in regard to
a break, enter and theft, that remains un-
solved in the Port Elgin -Kincardine area.
Kincardine OPP report that sometime
between February 2 and March 8, 1986, a
family living at lot 50,. concession 10, Bruce
Township, R. 1, Port Elgin had been away
for holidays and upon returning, found
their home had been broken into. Entry
was gained by prying open the basement
window.
Stolen in the break in was an old single
shot .22 calibre rifle and a home made
crossbow. In addition, a hunting knife and
steak knife were taken.

Kinloss Council meets
The Kinloss Council met for its regular
monthly meeting on August 4 with Reeve
Barry Johnston and all council members
in attendance.
Council appointed Pannell Kerr
MacGillivray as Township auditors for the
year.
In other business at the meeting, a letter
was received from Kincardine Township
requesting the townships of Greenoch and
Kinloss support their motion to petition the
Bruce County Highway Committee to give
consideration to upgrading Bruce County
Road Number 1 from Glammis to Kingarf
in the 1988 county road building program.
A motion was passed supporting the
request.
Demolition permits were approved for
the Pentecostal Church to demolish the
back portion of the minister's residence
and for Barry Johnston to demolish a shed.
COUNCIL
A building permit was approved for the
replacement of the back portion of the
Pentecostal minister's residence and for
Gerald Doelman to extand a barn on his
property.
A motion was passed supporting the
resolution of the Township of Kincardine
with regards to supporting sport fishing in
Lake Huron versus commercial fishing us-
ing gill nets.
General accounts for $9,822.11 and road
accounts for $88,539.87 were also approved
at the August meeting.
