Band is back after tour of Europe
Debra Emberlin, daughter of Roy and
Betty Emberlin of Lucknow, returned
home last week after a 22 day trip to
Europe. Debra had a wonderful opportuni-
ty to tour London, Brussels, Amsterdam,
Cologne, Strausbourg, Paris and Brighton
while travelling with the Ontario Massed
Legion Pipes and Drums.
The highlight of the trip, Debra reports,
was to play for the Queen Mother in Buck-
ingham Palace. This was the first civilian
band ever to march into the fore -court of
the Palace in the long history of the Royal
Family .
In Amsterdam the band played a special
concert at the Dutch Royal Palace and in
Cologne, West Germany, the group travell-

ed to the Canadian War Cemetery and per-
formed a Legion Memorial Service.
From Cologne the group headed up the
scenic Rhine River to Strausbourg,
France. The Massed Band and the
verterans did a special parade with the
Canadian Armed Forces at the invitation
of the Mayor of Lahr.

Arlene and Brian of New Market.
Alice and Goldwin Purves of Southamp-
ton visited at the home of Bob Purves on
Wednesday. Also visiting Bob was Cyler
Ramage of Chicago and Archie Graham of
London and his daughters Kay and Rose.
Congratulations are in order for Mr. and
Mrs. Robin Ray Netterfield (nee Cathy
England) who were married at the end of
last month.
Also, congratulations to Donna Hum-
phrey and. Otto Linde who were married
last Saturday and to Molly McBride and
Dennis Hodgins who were also married
last weekend.
While on the subject of weddings, here's
to Brenda Lippert and Claire Sterner who
tied the knot last Saturday in Formosa.
We wish a speedy recovery to Kathleen
Forster who was admitted to the Wingham
and District Hospital during the early
hours of Sunday morning.
At the same time, we extend deepest
sympathy to the families of the late Clif-
ford Roulston who passed away on July 10
and to the relativesof the late Vera Taylor
of Wingham, formerly of St. Helens. Also
to the families of the late Ezra Stanley who
left us on July 19.

children, London. On Thursday the Thomp-
sons visited with Kathleen Wilson, Port
Perry, and then spent the weekend with
Joan and Leo Richard, Oshawa.
Congratulations to Art and Ann Collins
who celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniver-
sary on Saturday. A reception -was held -for -
them in the Ripley -Huron Complex.
