Following a district meet in Kitchener in which 18 local athletes competed in various
track and field events, five members qualified to advance to the Provicial Legion
Track and Field Meet held the weekend of July 10 and 11 in Burlington. In the front
row is Jackie Wilson who participated in the long jump, Zone chairman Phyllis Mat-

the 100 meter and high jump, 400 meter runner Sharon Askes, and triple jumper

competition, five local athletes qualified to
travel to the Provincial Meet held July 10

While competition at the provincial level
is quite keen, our athletes did us proud and
made strong showings in their individual
events. They are to be congratulated for
their efforts with special thanks to Nancy
Murray and Jill Clynick for their,
assistance and to Zone Chairman Phyllis
Matthew.
