Vera Alberda (Berdie) Taylor
Vera Alberda (Berdie) Taylor of
Wingham, formerly of St. Helens, passed
away Sunday, July 12 at the Wingham and
District Hospital. She was in her 88th year.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Auburn on June
5, 1900, the daughter of the late John
Ferguson and Julia Case.
Married to Chester Taylor, Mrs. taylor
was an active member of the St. Helens
community until her retirement to
Wingham in 1965. She was bereaved by the
passing of her life partner in 1968.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the
Wingham United Church and was for
several years the pianist for the St. Helens
Women's Institute.
Left to mourn her passing are three
sons, Murray and Harold of Wingham and
Donald of St. Helens; two daughters, Vera
(Mrs. Gordon Miller) of London and Doris
(Mrs Ernie Walker) of Wingham; and six
grandchildren..
The late Vera Alberda Taylor rested at
the McBurney Funeral Home until Tues-
day, July 14 when complete funeral ser-
vices and committal were conducted by
Rev. J. Rea Grant. Interment followed in
the Wingham Cemetary.
Emily Pearl Elliott
Emily ,Pearl Elliott, of Maitland Manor,
died at her residence on Saturday, July 11 at
the age of 97.
Born in Dungannon on May 6, 1890, she
was the daughter of the late David Sproul
and the former Jenny Kitson. She married
the late Stephen Arthur Elliot.
Mrs. Elliot was a member of the Dungan-
non United Church and a life member of
Dungannon UCW.
Surviving are a daughter Margaret (Mrs.
Oscar Cuthill) of Seaforth and a son Harold
and his wife Jean of RR 6, Goderich. Also
surviving are her grandchildren, Paul
Cuthill and his wife Debbie, and Donald and
Helen Elliott.
She was predeceased by her husband, one
son Douglas Elliott, five sisters and two
brothers.
The funeral service was held at the Mc-
Callum and Palla Funeral Home on Mon-
day, July 13 with Rev. Robert Roberts of
Dungannon United Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Bob Wilson, Frank
Pentland, Ron Pentland, Arnold Stothers,
Herb Finnigan and Laverne Pentland.
Interment at Dungannon Cemetery.
Clifford James Roulston
On July 10, 1987, Clifford James
Roulston passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London in his 71st year.
Born to James and Jane Roulston in Oc-
tober of 1916 in the Rainy River District of

Ontario, Clifford married wife Maimie in
Wingham in March of 1938.
Clifford served in the Armed Forces
from 1940 until 1945 and was overseas for
four of those years. He served in Italy for
over a year and then in northern Europe,
Holland and Germany. For the ten years
before his retirement, Clifford worked as a
custodian at the F. E. Madill High School
in Wingham.
It has been more than four years since a
cancer operation and although his health
had deteriorated of late, death came
quickly at the end.
Funeral services were officiated by Rev.
Merelyn Letson on July 12 with interment
in the South Kinloss Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Bob Gilchrist,
Chester Finnigan, Terry Nethery,
Clarence Wood, Bruce Hamilton and Bob
Struthers. Ross Cummings and Bert Mof-
fat acted as honorary pallbearers. Ser-
vices were directed by MacKenzie and Mc-
Creath Funeral Home of Lucknow.
Clifford was predeceased by his parents,
a sister Mrs. Lillian MacLeod, a brother
Arthur and an infant son Donald. He is sur-
vived by his wife Maimie, daughter Mrs.
Irene Haldenby of Kinloss, sons Keith and
Ken Roulston of Blyth and Toronto, sisters
Inez MacAllister of London and Elsie
Symons of Stratford, 10 grand children and
three great grandchildren.
Clifford James Roulston was a kind and
loving husband and father and will be sad-
ly missed.
Robert Malcolm (Mac) Webster
Robert Malcolm Webster of Kincardine
passed away in his 79th year on July 7 at
the Kincardine and District Hospital.
An active member of the St. Anthony's
Roman Catholic Church in Kincardine, he
was also a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion and a drummer with the Kincar-
dine Pipe Band.
Born in Ashfield Township in May of
1909, Robert Malcolm Webster married
Laurette St. Amand of Quebec City in
December of 1946 in Riverside, Ontario.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert
and Violet Webster, a son Aurel and a
sister Mary Rechico.
Robert Malcolm is survived by his wife
Laurette, sons Glen and Sandy, and
brothers and sisters Margaret MacDonald
of Walkerton, William Webster of Walker-
ton, George Webster of Kincardine, Elliot
Webster of Forest, Jim Webster of Kincar-
dine, Fred Webster of London and Jean
Mortensen of Grand Bend.
Funeral Services were held at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Lucknow with interment
in the Greenhill Cemetery. Fraternal ser-
vices were also held at the Legion Branch
183, Kincardine. Pipers Dave McDonald
and Jack Baird accompanied the
graveside service. Active pallbearers in-
cluded Charles Goar, Henry Lamont, Ken
Petrie, Jim Errington, Finlay McLennan
and Rod McLennan. The service was con-
ducted by Rev. Father Hudson and
directed by MacKenkie and McCreath
Funeral Home of Lucknow.
The family of Robert Malcolm Webster
request that tributes be in the form of
donations to the Brain Research Founda-
tion, Box 1179, Station B, London, Ontario.
Edward (Ted) Bissett
Mr. Edward (Ted) Bissett, of Goderich,
died at Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital on Tuesday, July 7 at the age of 76.
Born in Goderich on May 16, 1911, he was
the son of the late Charles Bissett and the
former Elizabeth Newcombe.
He was a milk man. Mr. Bissett was a
member of the Goderich Fire Department
for 47 years, 15 years which he served as
Fire Chief. For the past nine year, he was a
school crossing guard.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marion
Curry; one son John and his wife Mary of
Goderich; one daughter Marion and her
husband John Hinton of Inwood; two sisters,
Isabelle (Mrs. James Murray) of Seaforth
and Margaret (Mrs. Jack Yeo) of Goderich;
one brother Frank of Huronview. Also sur-
viving are several grandchildren: Cindy
and Stephen Freeman; James, Jeffrey and
Crystal Bissett; Todd and Jason Hinton;
and great granddaughter Natasha Marie
Freeman.
Mr. Bissett was predeceased by one
brother Donald.
The funeral service was held at the Mc-
Callum and Palla Funeral Home .on Thurs-
day, July 9 with Rev. Gordon Pickell of
North Street United Church officiating.
Members of . the Goderich Fire Depart-
ment formed an honor guard at the funeral.
Flower bearers were Cindy Freeman and
Crystal Bissett. Pallbearers were Jim
Bissett, Jeff Bissett, Todd Hinton, Jason
Hinton, Stephen Freeman and Jack Hinton.
Interment at Maitland Cemetery.
The Presbyterian Church in Lucknow
was the site of the wedding vows exchang-
ed June 26, 1987 between Robin Ray Net-
terfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Net-
terfield • of Wingham and Cathy Ann
England, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
England of Lucknow.
Rev. Ramsay conducted the service
which saw Dale McDougall, a friend of the
bride, act as maid of honor and Rob Zim-
mer, a friend of the groom, stand up as
groomsman.
Bridesmaids included Nancy ' England,
sister of the bride; Rosalene Thorton,
friend of the bride; and Carolynne Netter -
field, sister of the groom.
Daughter of the bride, Carla England,
acted as flowergirl while Jeramy Sallows,
nephew of the bride, handled expertly the
duties of ringbearer.
The ushers for the ceremony were Brian
Stapelton, Darryle Dunbar and Paul
England while a lovely solo was sung by
Cindy Johanne.
Following the ceremony, a reception
was held for all at the Lucknow Communi-
ty Centre. Outof town guests included
Donald England, brother of the bride,
from Vancouver B.C.. The couple will

Linda Van Osch of Lucknow recently
graduated from F. E. Madill high school in
Wingham. Linda is an Ontario Scholar and
is looking forward to continuing ' her
education.
MURRAY-Grant and Karen Murray are
very pleased to announce the arrival of
their first child, a daughter, Patricia Ruth
Ann on July 10, 1987. Patricia Ruth Ann
weighed in at 6 lbs, 7 oz at her birth at the
Wingham and District Hospital.
