Heinmiller noted that a total of $646,659 was raised with 224,205 hours of volunteer work being provided. The guest speaker for the evening, Mr. Hayes, spoke of the fact that the majority of the patients in the hospital are over the age of 55. Due to the population of the aged in the facility, and complicated by the treatment of the AIDS disease, there is currently a shortage of treatment beds in the hospital. Grants from the Ministry for beds for long term patients is much less than for active treatment beds, Hayes pointed out. The treasurers report given by Lorna Stuart showed receipts at $4728.15 with ex- penditures at $633.33 for a balance of $4094.82. Future plans of the auxiliary include an Autumn Tea to be held in September. The next regular meeting of Ladies Auxiliary will be held on September 28 with presi- dent of District 2, Mrs. M.
