They are Mrs. Jenny McLean, Mrs. Helen Cornish, and Mrs. Adelene Martyn as reported to this column. Visiting at the Cottage Rod and Bernice MacLennan of Toronto were at the Martyn Cottage at Bruce Beach and visited with Bernice's mother Mrs. Adelene Martyn at her home in Ripley. Helping her out Living in with Mrs. Martyn to assist her as in previous years is Mrs. Isabel Wylds of the Sixth Concession west. New yard put in Thompson has a new gravel yard installed at the back of his Ripley Feed Mill. The job was done by Bill and Tom Kempton using their trucks and digging equipment. The weather was just right - dry last week for dirt removal and gravel refill them this week the rains for settling the gravel fill in place. Held successful tea The Ripley Women's Institute sponsored a very successful tea with all proceeds going to Kincardine and District Hospital Auxiliary. Bible study group holds meeting Donald and Alma Gillies journeyed to London last Wednesday. Their daughter, Valerie Gibson is recovering from recent surgery and has returned to her home) The Purple Grove Bible Study group met on Tuesday morning at the home of Bette McLeod. They were joined by Knox Church W.M.S. members for a noon luncheon. Barbara and Allan Brown of Toronto returned to their home after enjoying a holi- day with her parents Jim and Isabelle Brooks in Ripley. Jennifer Collins has gone to Belleville where she is going to work for the summer. Senior Citizens from here enjoyed the bus trip last Monday, stopping at the zoo in Ashfield township, the Apple farm, Laithewaite's, near Goderich. After lunch they toured the Carriage Factory at Bayfield and rounded out an enjoyable day at the Lambton County Museum at Grand Bend. Don and Karen Ritchie, Andy and Angie and friend John of Lucknow, Carla and Dus- ty Arnold visited on Saturday evening with Jim and Fran Farrell and family. Gladys Arnold and Joyce and Jim McEwen travelled to Ottawa to attend the graduation ofBarbara and n Jamie McEwen who received their Master's Degree in Public Administration. Merelyn Letson and Linda Thacker to London on Saturday where they attended and took part in the election of Bishop Percy O'Driscoll at St. Paul's Cathedral. Jack and Janet Farrell visited overnight on Saturday with George, Janice and Rachel Milles at Thornedale. Also visiting there on Sunday were Al and Jared Martin of Kitchener while Kathy Martin left on a F.A.M. trip for a week of Jamaica. The annual Campbell picnic was held on Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mur- ray Ribey at North Bruce. Attending from here were Don and Tiny Robertson. Thirty- six clan members were present including Mrs. Rhoda Ribey of Southampton Hospital and Mrs. Martha McIver of Princess Court in Kincardine. Don and Marilyn Reid and Larry took up resident in their new home recently after spending the winter on the twelfth. Trinity UCW holds meeting Trinity UCW held their regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Mansferd Dieroff with 21 members and five guests. This was our annual Grandmothers meeting. The president, Mrs. Blake Alton, opened the meeting with a reading. Mrs. Fred Phillips lead the Bible Study. Mrs. Andrew Jr. and Mrs.Jim WilliamFarrish were in charge of devotions. Mrs. Farrish read the scripture lesson. Mrs. Andrew gave the devotions. The devotions closed with prayer. The roll call "I remember Grandma because' was answered by all present. The offering was received and dedicated. Mrs. William Irvin introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Dawn Wilson who has been to Abu Dhabi where she and her family liv- ed for a year. Her husband is employed there. She gave us an interesting talk on their customs and life styles. She was thanked by Mrs. Irvin. The service of the leat coin was observed. Mrs. Warren Zinn gave- the treasurer's report. She mad a presentation to Mrs. John Williamson behalf if of Trinity UCW. Rev. and Mrs. John Williams and son are leaving for Hinton, Alberta at the end of the month. Upcoming events: include Camp Menestung on June 15. Mrs. Alton gave the benediction and the hostess and her committee, Mrs. Blake Alton, Mrs. Cliff Kilpatrick and Mrs. John Williams served a delicious lunch. Oregon residents visit area relative Mrs. Heather Kuraishi and daughters Alia and Nadia, of Roseburg, Oregon, are spending a holiday with her family here, Frank and Muria) MacKenzie and Dave and Connie Eadie and family. Mrytle Anderson of Milverton visited on Sunday with her sister Olive Needham. Nancy Maclntyre and Mary Macintosh and tWo lady friends from England spent Sunday in London. Lynda McQuillin of Willowdale and her friend Mary Carrick of Markham visited recently with Lynda's parents Mr. and Mrs. Dick McQuillin and Ron. While here, they attended the McLeod -Dyck wedding in Clinton. The June 3 meeting was hostessed by Mrs. Harvey Lavis at the church. Direc- tors were Mrs. Ira Dickie, Mrs. Frank MacKenzie and Mrs. David MacKinnon. Special guests for the evening were Jen- nifer MacKinnon and Marita MacDougall entertaining on their band instruments. President Mrs. Allan MacDougall open- ed with a poem welcoming all followed by a group reading of our WMS purpose and the Lord's Prayer in unison. Mrs. Frank MacKenzie enriched the evening with the Bible Study, "cornerstone", from 1st Peter. We can become as a cornerstone if we go with Jesus. This ended with prayer. SOUTH The Prayer Circle included MRs. Fraser MacKinnon, Mrs. Olive Needham and Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall. The roll call faith was answered by 17 members. Hymns regarding faith were sung intermittently throughout. The study book was interestingly por- trayed by Mrs. Ira Dickie. The Pakistan nation was expounded upon byway of theirit population, history, location and beliefs. A moment of prayer concluded the study. The offering and offertory prayer followed. Mrs. Ira Dickie gave a brief report on the presbyterial she attended in Brussels. Mrs. David MacKinnon gave a reading entitled "My Faith." The secretary's report was read and ap- proved and correspondence read. The treasurer's and Ladies Aid reports were given. Various business matters followed. The courtesy remarks were heard by Mrs. Ira Dickie. Mrs. Frank MacKenzie lead the closing prayer. Grace was sung before a delightful and bountiful lunch.
