Police seek assistance in break-ins

Police report that during the evening of
Sept. 7-8, 1986, four businesses were
broken into in the Port Elgin, Kincardine
and Lucknow areas. There was an at-
tempt at a fifth business in Port Elgin but
entry was not gained.
Businesses that were entered included,
the Beaver Lumber in Port Elgin where a
small quantity of tools were stolen. The
Beefway in Kincardine was broken into
utilizing the tools that were obtained from
the above noted business. The safe was
. subsequently pried open and a small quan-
tity of cash stolen. The unknown persons
then travelled to Lucknow and entered
Montgomery Motors and Lucknow Service
Centre and pried small safes open and
removed a small amount of cash from
each. In the latter break-in, all files were
search and the office trashed. •

4-H club learns about sewing

On May 14, the Port albert Sew and Sews
met for their sixth meeting of the Sewing
Plus club at the home of Donna Hayden at
7 p.m.
After the pledge was recited, Lisa Scott
read the minutes of the last meeting. The
leaders then talked about judging and the

proper way to do it. The members practic-
ed judging on scissors, pencils, seams, and
sewing techniques. Some members took
their blouses to show everyone in the club
the progress they have made.
The leader told the members when their
books and shirts were due and closed the
meeting.
