Mother visits Morrisons
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Morrison, Brandy and
Tommy of Northern Ontario brought his
mother, Mrs. Connie Morrison of
Manitooulin Island to visit with her son,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrison and family and
his brother of Lucknow.
On Saturday, Mrs. Connie Morrison of
Manitoulin Island, with her son Jim and
granddaughter Sarah and her dolly Chico
called on Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson at
Bray Lodge, Wingham.
Sunday evening callers on Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson, Wingham were Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Whitechurch.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Falconer, Tony, Kim
and Amy of Goderich were Saturday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Angus
Falconer. Tony has been Successful in
locating a part-time position.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon sent the
weekend in Chatham with Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Gaunt, Jennifer and Graeme.
Mrs. W. Henderson and son Jim and
Nancy of Brandford and Tattrie visited on
the weekend with Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and
with Wes at the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. John MacKinnon of
Lucknow and Mrs. Mildred McClenaghan
visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Haorld
Coiling of Fordwich.
Glen and Ken Sinnamon of Wingham
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. . E.W.
Beecroft.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy McCIenaghan of
Clinton visited on Sunday with Miss
Mildred McClenaghan of Whitechurch.
Whitechurch WI
On May 13, the Whitechurch WI held its
family and consumer affairs meeting with
Mrs. Tom Day acting as the convenor.
The opening exercises were held by the
president Helen Currie who welcomed all.
It was a pleasure to have the 4-H leaders
Mrs. Walter Elliott and Mrs. Sinclair War-
drop and the 4-H girls present.
Helen Currie read a spring poem and
Karen Elliott told the members about the
different events the 4-H ',girls practice.
They had .two projects, "Etiquette for the
,20's", and a skit called "Packing for a
Nine -Day Trip" was given by Kathy and
Mary. Dow, Allison Wardrop and Karen
Elliott.
A vote of thanks was given to the 4-H
girls and their leaders. They had a com-
petition of three decorated cupcakes with
the 4-H girls acting as judges .with first

Delegates were appointed to attend the
Women's Institute District Annual to be
held at Belmore on May 19. It .was also
moved to buy three new handbooks. The
Women's Institute bus trip is to Stratford
on June 23. Anyone wanting to go should
get in touch with Mrs. Dave Gibb or Mrs.
Agnes Farrier.
The rollcall, "Something new I'm trying
in my home," was answered by 14
members and 10 visitors. The motto was
read by Mrs. Myrtle Metcalfe was entitled
"One can value a house to the last penny,
but none can value their home," which was
very interesting.
Mrs. Brenda Day introduced the guest
speaker Mrs. Jean Montgomery of
Lucknow who is an occupational therapist
at the Wingham and District Hospital.
Jean told the members about the many
phases of her daily work. She was thanked
by Mrs. Don Ross.
Y No meeting is to be held in July. The
August meeting is for Education and
Cultural Activities with the rollcall being
"five cents for everyteacher you had in
public school". The motto will be " To-
day's child is tomorrow's citizen". The.
meeting closed with the singing of the
Queen.
Lunch was served by- Mrs. Elgin
Johnston, Mrs. Jean Tiffin and Mrs. Fred
Tiffin.

year that the Kinsmen have sponsored the
event, donating trophies to the winners.
Also, the Kinsmen will be holding a
repeat Blood, Donor Clinic at the' Lucknow
Central Public School on July 13. The blood
donor clinic will be carried out through the
Red. Cross with the Kinsmen organizing
transportation and the snacks and drinks
for those giying blood.
