spirits of a dozen energetic athletes from
the Lucknow area who travelled to Port
Elgin on Saturday, May 23 to compete in
the "Fast Times" Track and Field Meet
held at the Saugeen District Secondary
School.
A super effort by each athlete resulted in
a total of 18 awards being won, five gold,
five silver and eight bronze with each com-
petitor winning at least one ribbon.
Three local gold award winners went on
to set a new record in their event. Adrian

In a similar, but less serious incident on
Sunday, May 24, children playing with
matches was again the cause of a fire at
the farm of David MacKinnon of RR 3
Holyrood.
No damage was caused after a tractor
tire in a sandbox was set fire and spread to
nearby trees, said Mr. Hamilton.
After the two recent fire calls involving
youngsters playing with snatches, Mr.
Hamilton suggested that parents warn
their children about the dangers of playing
with matches.
