A Poem
When I announce that "dinner's on"
They come from all directions
Devouring everything in sight
Which I've cooked to perfection.
They compliment my chops and,roasts,
My pizzas are "gourmet"
I spend all day on homemade soup -
Sometimes I serve "buffet".
Sometimes I admit it warms my heart
When they say I'm a winner
But would it hurt if once a week
They took me out for dinner! !
Kairshea WI enjoys bus trip to Guelph
By Elizabeth Dickie
PRO Kairshea WI
Members of the Kairshea WI with their
husbands and friends enjoyed a bus trip to
the Guelph area on May 21.
The first stop 'was at the Desert Inn for
an excellent buffet lunch.
The tour of Schneider's Reliable Sweets,
an old-fashioned candy factory, in
Rockwood was interesting as everyone
could watch the candy-ncaking process,
and buy some to bring home.
At the Halton County Radial Railway
Museum, rides were taken on antique elec-
tric rail vehicles on a mile of scenic track.
Many could remember riding on similar
street cars in Toronto 50 years ago.
Some time was spent in the Stone Road
Mall in Guelph where all shopped and had
supper. The coach took everyone to the Via
Rail Station for a train back to Stratford.
The coach met the train there for the
return ride to Lucknow.
The president, Mrs. William Haldenby,
expressed the thanks of the group to the
convenors, Una Matthews and Rena
Forster, and to the tour directors,
Margaret Burkhart and Betty Anne
Elphick, for the enjoyable, relaxing, day
trip.
