Magic show coming soon
Have you ever wanted to float in mid-
air?
Well, you might get your chance if
you're in the audience of "Abracadabra" a
magical show coming to the Lucknow
Community Centre on May 31 at 2 p.m.
The show, sponsored by the Lucknow
and District Kinsmen Club, will feature
Vancouver -based magician John Kaplan,
an illusionist who has been featured on .the
"Love Boat" television show as the
"Magic Palace" television show.
Magic show organizer Rod McDonagh
says Mr. Kaplan not only bills himself as a °
master illusionist but as a master of com-
edy as well .which should make the show
especially appealing. Mr. Kaplan. also uses
live doves and rabbits in his magic show
and uses a great deal of audiencepar-
ticipation, culminating in a person chosen
from the audience who he will "float in
mid-air".
Overall, the show should last 11/2 hours,
he said. The magic show will also have a
booth for souvenirs and candy floss while
the Lucknow Kinsmen will also have a food
booth at the community centre.
Mr. McDonagh said^ the Kinsmen Club
elected to include the magic show as part
of its KinFest '87 celebration as it would
appeal to a broad spectrum of people.
"It's something other than the ball tour-
nament, and we thought this would be a
good family event," said Mr. McDonagh,

quickly spread through the house.
Since the fire, a number of Lucknow
businesses have taken up a donation for
the Gammie family. Individuals can make
