Members of the Mixed Couples Bowling
League sat down to a delicious hot beef
dinner in the Anglican Parish Hall. There
were approximately 50 in attendance.
League president Barb Tyler called the
evening to order with the singing of 0
Canada, followed by a toast to the Queen
and Grace.
After the meal, Gord Kemp thanked the
ladies for such a delicious meal.
Throughout the evening, prizes for the
lucky plates, lucky numbers and draw
prizes were given out.
The treasurer's report for the league
was given by Betty Van Osch.
Secretary Marg Hackett conducted the
presentation of awards. The winners and
presenters were as follows:
Bowling Awards
– Playoff champions were the Chipmonks,
presented by Merle Rhody.
– Playoff champions were the Wolverines,
presented by Steve Carvell and Mary
Phillips.
– Ladies' High Average of 191 to Merle
Rhody by Barb Tyler.
– Men's High Average of 220 to Gerald
Rhody by Betty Van Osch.
– Ladies' high triple (Season) of 711 to
Barb Tyler by Merle Rhody.
– Men's High Triple (Season) of 676 to
Steve Carvell and Harvey Livingston
(tied) by Gerald Rhody.
– Ladies' High Single (Season) of 309 to
Nancy Swan by Delores Van Osch.
-- Men's High Single (Season) of 277 to
David Elliott by Antone Van Osch.
– Ladies High Triple with handicap of 668
to Pat Livingston by Mary Lou Raynard.
– Men's High Triple with handicap of 656 to
Antone Van Osch by Pete Van Osch.
– Ladies' High Single with handicap of 373
to Kim Tyler by Marg Hackett.
– Men's High Single with handicap of 333 to
D:A:Hackett by Lloyd Humphrey.
– Ladies' High triple (Playoffs) of 621 to
Wilma Elliott by Beryl MacDonald.
– Men's High Triple (Playoffs) of 611 to
Brian Van Osch by Russel Swan.
– Ladies High Single (Playoffs) of 224 to
Mary Lou Raynard by Thelma Van Osch.
– Men's High Single (Playoffs) of 240 to
Joe Agnew. This was accepted by Allan
Hackett as Joe was out of town.
– Ladies Most Improved Yearly Bowler of
+45 to Betty Van Osch by Barb Tyler.
– Men's Most Improved Yearly Bowler of
+39 to Allan MacDonald by Doug
Raynard.•
– Ladies' Most Improved New Bowler of
+24 to Brenda Kemp by Evelyn Hackett.
– Men's Most Imporved New Bowler of
+25 to Gord Kemp by David Elliott.
– Games over 300 - Nancy Swan - 309; Kim
Tyler - 305; Harvey Livingston - 305;
Gerald Rhody - 320, 308, 303.
These were presented by Joe Van Osch.
The secretary thanked everyone for their
help. She was presented with a floral ar-
rangement by Barb Tyler and she thanked
everyone.
During the evening, pictures were taken
of both the season and playoff champs.
The executive for the league will remain
the same this year.
A few musical numbers were given by
some of the teams. For the Gophers, Mary
Lou Raynard played parts of 20 songs and
everyone wrote down the names of the
songs. Following this, the Chipmonks
engaged in a sing -song with Beryl Mac-
Donald playing the piano and the rest of
the team leading in the singing.
The Wolverines entertained by doing a
humorous skit. Participants were Brenda
and Gord Kemp, Helen and Brian Van
Osch, Nic and Bev Beyersbergen and
Wayne Bell read the commentary. Laurie
Bell was absent due. to work. Lastly, the
Tigers had a contest with Lifesavers and
straws. it was discovered some people
weren't very steady!
During the evening, a birthday cake was
brought in to Bob Mole as it was his birth-
day. Everyone sang Happy Birthday!
