After singing grace, the ladies enjoyed a pot -luck dinner at noon. The rollcall was the payment of fees. The minutes, financial statement and correspondence was given by the secretary -treasurer. From the minutes, the members were reminded ogf the Butler Project; the Pennies for Friendship 4-H Club; and the planning meeting for the District Annual on Monday, April 6 at Londesboro. A thank -you note was received from Beth and Wilmer Rutledge for the lovely wreath wall hanging they received from the institute for their 50th anniversary. The institute will again this year present a Proficiency Award to the scholar who has the highest marks in Grade 8. At this time, the annual meeting was held. The reading of the minutes of last year's annual meeting were read and adopted. All chairs were declared vacant. The secretary Alma Black was appointed secretary for the annual meeting. The reports of all standing committees and president's summary for the year were given. The District Presi- dent Louise Elliot installed the 1987-88 of- ficers. At this time, Louise brought greetings from the West Huron district. In her talk, she gave the members some pointers and tips on making learning easier. The members were also informed of the new handbook which is coming out. President Elmira Finnigan thanked her and presented her with a gift from the institute. The meeting closed with the reading of a poem about Easter.
