Ah, it's springtime again
Green grass grows
Snow drops droop

Spring, Spring
What Do You See
Spring, Spring what do you see?
I see a flower looking at me.
Flower, flower what do you see?
I see a stem looking at me.
Stem, stem what do you see?
I see the sun looking at me.
Sun, sun what do you see?
I see socks looking at me.
Socks, socks what do you see
I see boots looking at me.
Boots, boots what doyou see
I see puddles looking at me.

The grass so green
The sky so blue
My dream is finally coming true.
We'll listen to the birds sing
And then we'll know that it is spring.
So listen now and you'll agree
As you watch animals climb their trees
You'll know that Spring is on it's way
Sunshine, warmth, so light and gay.

My hero
My hero would be a tall, muscular, dark
haired man with pale blue eyes and a
weather beaten face. He would be a
western frontier town sheriff from the
1700's. He would be able to draw a six gun
quick as lightning. He also would be able to
hit a target from a distance of one hundred
yards. He would be as quiet and stealthy as
an Indian scout and he would be a great
horseman. That would be my hero.

Hat Day
° On Hat Day there were many weird
hats" Mrs. Clooney (the grade eight
teacher) had an umbrella hat, Mr. Pike
had lights on his. In our grade five room
the most creative hat award was given to
Shelly Gollan. There were many funny
hats such as a pizza delivery man hat and
a soldier hat. Anyway I'd sure want
another hat day.

The Lucknow Central Science Fair was
held Thursday, April 2nd and was a huge
success again (as usual). Everyone who
had participated received a ribbon.
The projects were judged by: William
Pike, Sharon Pike, Del Burkhart, Mrs.
Mabel Wheeler, Don Cameron, John
Roberts, Ross Errington.
But not only were there lst., 2nd., 3rd.
and participation ribbons there were also
12 students from Lucknow Central com-
peting in the County Fair in Mildmay Car-
rick Public School. In the Mildmay school
they give out Special Awards, lst., 2nd.,
3rd. and participation. From there they go
onto the Ontario -wide Science Fair.
Maybe next year you could be one of the
lucky ones!
