Mrs. Bert Thompson from the Kinlough WMS attended the Synodical on Tuesday at the Listowel Presbyterian Church afternoon and evening meeting. Pastor M. Christenson underwent emergency surgery at the Kincardine and District Hospital last Monday where he has been a patient all week. Mrs, Katherine Mohamed and the boys of Toronto spent a day at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Page. Mr. and Mrs. Don McCash of Ripley visited Wednesday with Mrs. Frank Maulden and with Edna and May Boyle. Mrs. Frank Maulden was a recent din- ner guest with Mr. and Mrs. William Mac- Pherson of Concession 10. Mrs. Vivian- Parkinson of London was here with Mrs. Christensen and also visited her brother at Kincardine Hospital. The Pastor returned home on Saturday. For the week, Mr. and Mrs. Don Christensen, Janine and Donnie of Milton were here at the manse with Pastor and Mrs. M. Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guests were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Neabel and family at Lucknow, it being the occa- sion of Fred's Birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald visited with Mrs. Jim Struthers at Teeswater and with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Bershell at Kingarf, with Mr and Mrs. Don Bushell and family at Kinloss. Mrs. Jack Barr returned home on Satur- day from Kincardine and District Hospital where she was a patient. Mr. and Mrs. MacDonald and Jeffrey of Kincardine visited on Sunday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald here. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bushell of Wingham visited on Saturday with their mother Mrs. John Barr. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morningstar (nee Shirley Bushell) on the gift of their baby son Andrew William at Southampton hospital on Wednesday, April 22. A brother for Lindsay. Mr.and Mrs. Don Bushell went on Sudnay to see Shirley and their new grandson and had supper at Port -Elgin with Glen and Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Murray and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Murray and family and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murray, Joanne and Betty Ann attended the Wedding of Cynthia McCarter at Wallaceburg. Cyn- thia is the daughter of Veronica (Murray) McCarter and the late Keith McCarter. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Brian Murray of our village on the birth of a baby daughter on Monday April 27. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murray, Concession 10 and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schiestel of Teeswater. UCS meets at Maitland Manor On Tuesday afternoon April 21 the Dungannon, UCW met at Maitland Manor Nursing Home. Many residents joined in singing their favourite hymns. Miss Helen Elliot sang two beautiful solos, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "1 Am Satisfied". She was accompanied by Mrs. Jean Elliot on the organ. John Williams conducted an Easter service en- titled "Death and Resurrection." Everyone repeated "The Lord's Prayer" and hymns were sung. Then the ladies treated the residents with delicious cupcakes, and tea was served. They also visited with them. The business meeting followed with Mrs. Jean Errington presiding. Invitations were received to Trinity's Thankoffering on April 26th and the Campside experience, at Camp Menesetung on June 15 at 9:00 a.m. A thank you from the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital for a crib quilt was receiv- ed. The next meeting will be on May 19th at 8:00 p.m. in the church basement.
