Locals return from Hawaii
Blanche and Howard MacCallum, Anne
Anderson and Noma Campbell returned
home last week from a two-week vacation
in Hawaii.
Brenda Lippert and friend Clarie Stef-
fler visited on Thursday with Bob Purves
at the,K-W Hospital in Kitchener.
Better health is extended to Bob Purves,
who returned home on Sunday from K -W
Hospital in Kitchener after a week's stay.
Pat Good and girls of Goderich and
Geraldine Schlosser spent the weekend in
Kitchener visiting with Ann Gould and
Anette.
The Lucknow School Band, under the
direction of Mr. Gordon Cayley, played
Wednesday afternoon and Thursday after-
noon at the Musicfest in Port Elgin. They
also played at Kinsmen Day in Goderich
on Saturday.
We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Saunders to the village. They moved into
the former Jean Jardine home which they
purchased when Jean moved to the Senior
Citizens Apartments.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hunter and Laura of
Pefferlaw visited his mother, Mrs. Beryl
Hunter recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keane and Arlene of
Newmarket visited Marlene's mother,
. Mrs. Beryl Hunter last weekend.
LUCKNOW
The Lucknow and District Fire Depart-
ment was called out early Monday morn-
ing to a fire at Point Clark where a cottage
was on fire.
Mrs. F. deBoer recently returned from
British Columbia after spending four mon-
ths with her daughter and family, Mr. and
Mrs. K. Kragt. The weather was excellent
and when Mrs. deBoer left for home the
flowers were in bloom.
Congratulations to Leisa Rau of
Lucknow, one of the members of the Acro -
Cheer Squad from F.E. Madill Secondary
School in Wingham which won the top
award at the Canadian -American Cham-
pionships held in Niagara Falls recently.
The 21 -member team and its two
coaches were treated to . a ride through
Wingham on the fire truck after their vic-
torious return from the competition.
The team competed with 24 other team
from Canada and the United States.
Presbyterial executive meets
The executive meeting of Bruce
Presbyterial of the United Church Women
was held at the Chesley United Church on
March 23. Sixteen members of the ex-
ecutive and 24 representatives from the
local churches were present.
Mrs. Verda Gunn, president of the
Chesley UCW, welcomed everyone and the
ladies of the UCW served coffee and
muffins.

The devotional period was conducted by
Jessie Clark, Kincardine. Joyce McEwan,
also of Kincardine, played the piano for the
hymns.
Rev. Arthur Hiley of the Clifford United
Church and Rev. William McKaig, Paisley
United Church, conducted a question
period following the showing of the
videotape "The Hidden Minority".
Laura Williams of Port Elgin con-
gratulated Laura Lee Cayley, Lucknow
