Exeter lady wins Vegas trip.
Joyce Black of Exeter was the big win-
ner of the trip to Las Vegas draw, spon-
sored by the Dungannon Agricultural
Society, at the society's euchre tourna-
ment on April 11.
The second prize, a weekend for two at
the Wheels Inn in Chatham, was won by.
Diane Buchanan of RR 6 Goderich. The
third prize of two free admissions to all the
society's events for one year, was won by
Eric. Millet of RR 6 Goderich.
At the euchre torunament, the last for
this year, 29 tables were in play with Alden
and Erma Crich taking top spot with a
score of 80. A tie resulted for second and
third place between Bert Garrett and
Irene Whitmore and Jane Glousher . and
Nadine Scott. After a playoff round, the tie
still existed with the two pairs agreeing to
split the prize money.
The lucky doorprizes were won by Erma
and Alden Crich, Dorothy Clements and
Evelyn Vanderburgh. The prizes for the
oldest lady and lady went to Annie Fink-
beinder of Zurich and Harvey Sillib of
Blyth, both 83 years young.
The lucky chair prizes were won by Lyn-
da McNee, Clarence Allin, Ella Mae Mohr-
ing, Elwin Sillib and Millie Johnston. Bir-
thday prizes were awarded to Raymond

The "special contest" was won by Millie
Johnston.
McLauchlan coming to Blyth
One of Canada's most popular singers,
Murray McLauchlan, will give a solo con-
cert performance on October 17 at 8:30
p.m. A legend in his own time, Murray
McLauchlan has consistently given us
fine, honest songs about Canada and Cana-
dians, songs that are at home in many
musical styles from folk to rock to country.
Don't miss this chance to catch this ac-
claimed singer during his one perfor-
mance at Blyth.
The story of a true Canadian hero is the
third offering in the adult series. McLure,
a one-man play by Munroe Scott, is about
Robert Baird McClure, one of Canada's
great humanitarian surgeons, and his ex-
traordinary accomplishments during his
missionary years in China. Dr. McClure is
also known to many Canadians for his
work when he was moderator of the United
Church of Canada. This production will -be
playing in November 1987, the exact date
to be announced.
Rounding off the adult fall/spring series
is a concert by the Canadian Chamber
Ensemble, to be held in April or May 1988
(date to be announced). Draw from the
members of the renowned Kitchener -
Waterloo Symphony, this chamber ensem-
ble will perform a popular repertoire, in-
cluding pieces by Mozart, Bach, Haydn or
Wagner - a truly rich concert of classical
music. This is a return visit by the Cana-
dian Chamber Ensemble; music lovers
will remember the wonderful concert
given by them a couple of years ago.
You may purchase tickets to the adult
series in maxi -packages (all four adult
events - $28) or mini -packages (any two
adult events - $17). This results in savings
of up to 33 per cent off the regular single
ticket prices of $10.50. The renewal
deadline for current package holders is
May 1. From May 4 through to May 8,
maxi and children's series packages will
be on sale. After May 11, all tickets (single,
maxi and mini packages, children's
series) will be available: For further infor-
mation, please call the box office at
523-9300/9225. A brochure containing full
details of all spring/fall programs is
available on request.
