( Alan Rivett photo) Many winners at LOPS science fair By Billy Sanderson and Gavin Hunter LCPS has had another successful Science Fair this week with many fine pro- jects exhibited by the students. Thanks goes to the parents, students, judges and teachers who helped make the Science Fair an exciting and colorful lear- ning experience. The difficult job of judging was given to Mrs. D. Burkhart, teacher at LCPS; Mr. D. Cameron, retired teacher; Mr. R. Err- ington, retired teacher; Mrs. S. Pike, teacher from Huron Heights school; Mr. B. Pike, principal at LCPS; Mr. J. Roberts, from the BNPD and Mrs. M. Wheeler, retired teacher from LCPS. From at least 215 projects, the following awards were given: Kindergarten Kindergarten students were given 17 participation ribbons. The board elected Harold Campbell, Chairman; Edna Young, Secretary; Brock Cleland, Treasurer. The Board of Management is in the pro- cess of applying for an Horizons Grant to assist in furnishing the newly renovated room allocated to them in the lower floor of the Town Hall. The Board is organizing a membership drive. Until the room at the Town Hall is com- pleted, the Drop In Centre will continue to meet every Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Sepoy Apartments. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to permit the development of land in the Village of Lucknow for commer- cial purposes. Land affected by the proposed amendment have an area of approximately 16,000 sq. ft. with a frontage of about 220 ft. along Campbell Street, and are located between Victoria and Stauffer Streets and formerly known as the Montgomery Motors property. The lands are described as Lots 285 - 286 - 287 on Registered Plan No: 36. A PUBLIC MEETING to consider the above noted propos- ed amendment will be held on Wednesday, May 6th, 1987 at 11:00 A.M. in the upstairs meeting room of the Bruce County Administration Buildings, 30 Park St., Walkerton, Ontario.
