Mrs. Elsie Houston returned from
Western Canada last week where she
visited with her son Jay, of Barclay Street
in Vancouver B.C., and with son Hugh of
Millarville, Alberta. The month of
February was spent at Helm's Inn, Vic-
toria B.C.
Wallace and Kerry Houston and
daughters Dana and Alison are now
residing at 25 South Street West, Aylmer,
Ontario, moving there in January from
Port Hardy, North Vancouver Island, B.C.
The community expresses sympathy to
a number of families in Lucknow and area.
Diane and Tony Carter and family in the
passing of Diane's mother, Ruth
Schlosser; Linda and Steve Owen and
family in the passing of their daughter
Kristen and Kay Collyer and family in the
passing of Stewart.
A number of people headed to the warm
climate over the spring break while other
parents and children spent considerable
time in Goderich at Young Canada Week.

operating a seed and feed business in the,
former Elliott building.

fler spent Sunday in Toronto visiting with
Claire's sister Janet, who is a patient in the
hospital there after hip surgery.
Tam Forster and friend of London spent
the weekend with Tam's parents, Ron and
Kay Forster. Also visiting at the same
home for the March break was their
daughter, Fay Ann of Bramalea. They
also visited with Donna and Gary Sutton
and family.
Michael and Geraldine Schlosser spent
Saturday with Pat and Ernie Good and
girls of Goderich.
Most of Lucknow viewed with interest
the recent Canada -Russia series involving
the players of the great 1972 series event as
hometown hero Paul Henderson was one of
players. Interviewers from all parts of
Canada interviewed Mr. Henderson on the
1972 series, especially his now -legendary
game winning goal in the final game of the
series.
Bridal shower held in
On Saturday evening, a bridal shower
for Miss J. Henry was held at the home of
Marty Young for their relatives.
We are sorry to report that Mrs. Gordon
Rintoul had to return to Wingham hospital
last week after having been released from.
London hospital.
Glen and Ken Sinnamon were Sunday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Beecroft.
Ronald and Mrs. Beecroft returned on
Sunday evening from Switzerland where
their team won three out of five games in
the Oldtimers Hockey Tournament.
Mr. and Mrs. Ducharme of Goderich
were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
.Laidlaw last week.
Mrs. Laura McNeil of Wingham was a
Sunday visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Laidlaw.
Whitechurch
Wilmer Nicholson passed away in Clin-
ton last week. He had been in the Huron -
view home. He was predeceased by his
'wife Gertie Gaunt and has two sons surviv-
ing. The funeral was on Wednesday in
Goderich, attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ted
McClenaghan of Kitchener. ..

during the March Break were Mrs. Bar-
bara Carey of Kitchener and Mrs. Mary
Gaunt, Graeme and Jennifer of Chatham.
The Presbyterian Church has been
freshly painted, both walls and floor.
St. Patrick's Day theme of meeting

The Lucknow Town and Country Club
met at the Legion Hall on March 16 with an
attendance of 70. The meeting opened with
the singing of 0 Canada.
Mrs. Betty O'Donnell chaired the
meeting for an Irish programme. The
Country Dancers delighted the audience
with several toe -tapping numbers. Bill
Kirkman recited ° an Irish poem from
memory.
Gord's Old Time Band from Wingham
entertained with music throughout the
afternoon. Several of the audience enjoyed
dancing to the music. Heidi Pritchard
delighted everyone with her tap-dancing
numbers.
Betty O'Donnell gave an Irish reading
and an Irish sing -a -long was enjoyed with
all taking part accompanied by Mrs.
Isobel Shepherd at the piano. Mrs.
Margare . Dineen delighted the audience
with two readings from memory.
The president announced the "Tea and
Dance" and as well an invitation to Happy
Hearts Seniors Club on April 10. The bir-
thdays were honored and cake, ice-cream
and tea were served by the committee in
charge of the meeting.
