from Waterloo Lutheran University.
Stuart and Kay have been able to pack
much activity into those almost 10 years of
leisure retirement years. Good health had
blessed them until Stuart's first signs of il-
lness last Fall. He was an ardent hor-
ticulturalist, hunter and fisherman
throughout his lifetime. In the winter mon-
ths, the couple had enjoyed their retire-
ment years at Palm Springs, California as
well as in Florida. He was a lover of sports
and managed to attend some of the spring
training games for baseball while winter-
ing in the United States.
Over the years in Lucknow, Stuart con-
tributed in many ways to his community
by his involvement in community
organizations.
His church, Lucknow United, received
the benefit of his teaching a Sunday School
class of boys for many years, and later as
a supply teacher when needed. He served
on the official board of the church and as a
member of session.

County Teachers' Institute and the
Elementary School Principals'
Association.

Old Light Lodge held a Masonic Service at
the Funeral Home on Friday evening. He
was also a Past First Principal of the
Royal Arch Masons of Lucknow.
Mr. Collyer had many devoted years of
service to the Lucknow Fire Department.
He served the department for well over 30
years and for many of these years he acted
as the secretary -treasurer of the group.
The Fire Department held a service of
respect at the Funeral Home on Friday
evening.
He was a charter member of the
Lucknow District Lions Club which was
formed 30 years ago this year. The Lions
Club paid their respects at the Funeral
Home on Friday evening.
A long time member of the Lucknow
Legion Branch 309, he was recognized by
Legion members at a service at the
Funeral Home on Friday evening.
Other civic offices where Stuart con-
tributed his time and guidance were the
Boy Scout Association where he was Scout
leader for 14 years and for a time was
Assistant District Commissioner for
Saugeen District, the Library Board where
he was chairman for several years and the
Village of Lucknow where he acted as
assessor for several years.
He took a keen and -active interest in his
community and in the many young people
who passed through his care in their
elementary school years.
Besides his wife, the former Kathleen
Thom, he is survived by three sons: Ted,
his wife Sandra and their family Chris and
Lisa, all residents of Meaford; Thom, his
wife Sandra, their son Scott and daughter
Karen of Orangeville, with Scott presently
