Two recovering from surgery
. Best wishes to Louise Brindley and Ver-
na Hallam who both underwent surgery on
Tuesday at University Hospital in London.
Louise is reported to be coming along just
fine and is up and around, but will be in the
hospital for another week. Verna is ex-
pected to be in the hospital for at least
another 10 days. Verna is the daughter of
Gertrude Park and a resident of Auburn.
Rob, Barb and Kristi Lee Hill of London
visited with Bill, Marie and Brad Park and
Tim and Wanda Hodges on Sunday.
Ray and Gwen Copeland were in London
on Sunday to visit with Ray's sister, Dolly
Partridge.
Irvine and Colleen Eedy visited in
Mississauga with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Eedy,
Megan, Jennifer and Tim last weekend.
There were 14 tables at the Senior's Cen-
tre on Wednesday evening. Carmen
Brindley was high man while the low
man's score went to Tom Tobey. There
was a tie for high lady between Elsie Dyck
and Grace Finnigan with Grace winning
the draw. The low lady was ,Aileen
Trommer.' •
Jim, Sandra and Alan Rivett travelled to
Toronto recently to attend the funeral of
Sandra's aunt Victoria MacDonald. Many
, friends and relatives from Toronto, Burl -
ington, Cambridge and Thunder Bay also
attended.
Visiting on Saturday with Jim and San-
dra Rivett and family was Sandra's cousin
Mel Jewell of Clinton.
Intended for last week
Sympathy is extended to Lee Shetler and
family on the death of their husband and
father Don, on Friday in his 80th year. Ser-
vices were held from the McCallum and
Palla Funeral Home on, Monday with spring
interment in Napanee.
Congratulations to Laird and Bonnie
Spivak who celebrate their 12th anniversary
on March 6.
There were 17 tables of players at the
weekly euchre at the Seniors Centre. High
lady, Ila Pollock, low, Mary Spriggs, high
man, Raymond Haggitt; low, John An
drews. A decorated cake was cut and served
to observe the February birthdays Bob
Stothers, Eva Adamson, Herb Finnigan,
Gloria Pearson and Bill Walters. There
were two anniversaries, Al and Roberta Lin -
skill, and Raymond and Lois Haggitt. The
general meeting is on March 11 at 2:00 p.m.
Couple vacationing in California
Cathy and Kevin Cook entertained Steve
and Debbie Moran for supper on Saturday
evening.
Bob Simpson is home after being a pa-
tient in Wingham hospital for a few days.
Dennis and Irene Dalton are home after
spending a month's vacation with their
daughter Alice Juillian of Orange. County,
California.
Many youngsters from the area enjoyed
the Tyke hockey tournament in Lucknow
on Saturday.

LOTTON - Ron and Gail (nee Lockwood )
of Ripley are pleased to announce the birth
of their daughter, Kathleen rnarie, 8 lbs; on
February 14, 1987 at the Kincardine
District General Hospital. Proud grand-
parents are Ross and Shirley Lockwood of
Richmond, Quebec and Blake and Dorothy
I,ottcon of Ripley.
RITCHIE - Bryan and Nancy (nee Ankers-
tein) of E'enhold, Alberta, wish to an-
nounce the birth of a son, Caleb Bernard,
on February.17, 1987 in Red Deer Hospital,
a wee brother for Curtis and Candida, and
another grandson for Harvey and Betty
Ritchie of RR 3 Lucknow.
