This week was the last week with Miss
Lane, She is going back to school on Mon-
day. The Kindergarten students all en-
joyed her help in the classroom. The class
had another special visitor to the class.
Mrs. MacKinnon came and talked about
working in a grocery store and about dif-
ferent kinds of vegetables.
Grade One
This week in Grade 1, they had a very
special treat. Some children from the
Kindergarten class, Erin Eadie, Alicia
deBoer and Michelle Gibbons read their
very own books. Alicia and Michelle had
Alphabet books''and Erin fooled everyone
with her "peek" book. After that Marcia
Showers, Lisa Kwan, Andy Furness and
Kelly Newhook came from Grade 2 to read
their owl stories. Everyone has become
better reader they are now experts at
sounding out new words.
The "Special Me" this week was Ronnie
Van Meeteren. He told us about his farm.
The class had fun in the gym using a tam-
borine to move to. Thursday They made
hatbooks with Mrs. Maclntrye for Hat
Day.
Grade Two
The Grade 2 class really enjoyed Hat
Day. Every person in the class par-
ticipated. Some of the unusual hats were, a
"Bobby's" hat and a hat from Aruba. We
are all ready for nutrition month in March.
All Grade 2 students are going to try to eat
"green" light snacks only. Hopefully they
will become memebers of the "Sneaky
Snack Club".
Grade Three
This week we were thrilled on Monday
when "Cowgirl Christie" arrived with
chaps, bridle, reins, saddle, boots and hat.
Each student enjoyed sitting in her saddle
and wearing her western gear. Thank you
"Cowgirl Christie".
Friday was Hat Day and everyone en-
joyed wearing a hat for the day. " There
were many weird hats and special house
league points were passed out for the best
one.
Grade Four
This week in the Grade 4 class some tas-
ty concoctions were written. They were
"Stirring stories": The ingredients were,
Who, What and Where as well as some

The class is very proud of Amy Austin who
represented our school at the Legion
Speaking Contest.

The Grade 5 class enjoyed a Perfor-
mance Day on Friday, February 27.
Trumpets, trombones, clarinets, flutes,
drums, piano solos and even an Eb horn
were featured. It was enjoyed by all.
Grade Six
The Grade 6 class was very fortunate to
have won the Class of the Month Award.
Be prepared to read next week about how
it feels to be a student in a class that won
the Class of the Month Award.
Grade Seven
On Tuesday, February 24, Grade 7
received a new student named Shelly
Bruce.
On hat day there was one hat that got ex-
tra points because it was extra long.
The Grade 7 and 8 boys are using their
talents in imagination by having fun
games of hockey at recesses.
Grade Eight
Last Thursday, the Grade 8 class attend-
ed Walkerton District Secondary School
for a half-day. They ,were welcomed by
Mr. Maine, Vice Principal and Mr.
Barnes, Head of . Guidance before leaving
with group leaders on tours of the school.
Shops, drafting classes, art classes,
LCPS
French, library, main offices and many
other facilities were described. Many
questions were answered by the student
guides. We had milk and cookies for our
relaxation bread in the cafeteria. Thank
you.
An week, from the February 23 to 27, the
Grade 8 class was fortunate to have a
guest from the Bruce Nuclear Power
Development (BNPD), Mr. B. Allen. He is
a teacher from Bruce County and has been
going to different schools doing interesting
experiments and giving presentations
about basic electricity and energy. Thank
you to Mr. Allen.
