4 -Hers enjoy recipes

The first meeting of the Whitechurch 4-H
club was held at the home of Mrs. Kathleen
Elliott on Saturday, February 14.
The leaders for the club are Mrs.
Kathleen Elliott and Mrs. Jeanette War-
drop. The members Au Cathy Dow,
Maryon Dow, Karen El Kristen Owen,
Cathy Selent, and Alison Wardrop.
The election was held for the filling of
the offices. The election went as follows:
President - Karen Elliott; Vice -President -
Cathy Selent; Secretary - Alison Wardrop;
and Press Reporter - Maryon Dow. The
Junior Leader for the club is Karen Elliott.
The club is called "Surviving With
Style" and it will be very useful for today's.
lifestyles. The meeting focussed on how to
choose good, nutritional food at low cost.
Meeting Two
The second meeting of the Whitechurch
4-H Club met at the home of Mrs. Kathleen
Elliott on Thursday, February 19.
Five of six members were present. The
members were shown how to prepare their
own recipes for the meal. The business
part of the meeting was completed. Karen
perfrmed her duties as president.
The members then went to the kitchen
table to enjoy a meal of Apple and Celery
Salad, 1234 Casserole, rolls, smooth and
creamy pudding, served with water. The
members discussed a story over dinner
and everybody went home full.
Meeting Three .
The third meeting of the Whitechurch
4-H Club was held at the home of Mrs.
Jeanette Wardrop on February ,28.
The members decided on a name for the
club: "The Whitechurch Stylish Sur-
vivors".
During the meeting, Constable Marshall
gave a presentation to the club on safety at
home. Two films were viewed. The first
one was called "Alone at Home" and the
second was called "Bike Safety and Rules
of the Highway". An interesting discussion
followed with members telling about in-
teresting experiences and questions were
answered concerning the films.
The club members send appreciation to
Constable Marshall for his presentation.

The second meeting of the Lucknow 4-H
club was.held at the home of leader Sharon
Stein. Ten members were present.
The members started off the meeting
with the 4-H Pledge and Marita Mac-
Douall performed her duties as presi-
dent. Later on, the members tested their
talents at cooking. The food tasted great
and most members plan to try the recipes
on their families.
After clean-up, the members discussed
what foods are best for them and which
foods contained the most vitamins. They
.ec:ex�,learned about vitamins no one had
ever heard of.
It was a great meeting considering the
members had dishes to do and they had to
eat their own cooking

• An organizational meeting was held at
Lila Rintoul's home on February 12, at 7
p.m. for the St. Helen's "Survive with
Style".
Discussion was held on what colour the
books should be and when they were to be
handed . in. The club name was left
undecided.
The club leader gave a brief outline of
this club's activities.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. with
the 4-H motto,
Meeting one
The first meeting of the St. Helen's "Sur-
vive with Style" was held at the home of
Lila Rintoul, February 19, at 7 p.m. The
meeting was opened with the 4-H pledge.
The date for the next meeting was set
and what members were to bring to the
meeting.
The rollcall, '`Why did you join this
club?" was answered by all members.
Daring the, meeting discussion was held
on what you're to do while you are alone.
The proper use of a plunger was
demonstrated and the parts of the toilet
and how they work was explained. .
Different kinds of fuses were shown and
where the fuse box is located. Members
also discussed where and why we have fire
alarms.
The meeting was closed at 9 pm. with the
4-H motto.
