CGIT studies native peoples
The Lucknow CGIT has been working on
Year Two of the Mission Dialogue about
Native Peoples. This year, the study
focusses on. the Miskito of Nicaragua,
thelVIapuche of Chile, the Aboriginals of
Australia and the Tribal Filipinos of the
Philippines.
It was discovered that the problems of
these groups are similar to those of
Canada's own native people. Tile group
decided to bring a special offering tov-ards--
the purchase of tools which a local
teenager will use as she joins as she joins a
group who will build houses in Nicaragua.
Leader Julie Nicholson is giving some
history and showing the change in the
uniform at each meeting. Senior members
have been doing the songs, games and wor-
ship: The group will be making Easter
Eggs next month to continue supporting
it's foster sister 'in Kenyi.
Members , enjoyed a ski outing and
spaghetti supper at Doreen Mali's. A
weekend retreat is planned at Silver Lake
Camp in March. 0
